The Recruitment Process

The first stage of the recruitment process will be to complete an application form. If you apply as a couple, both of you will be required to complete a separate form. Your application will be considered and if you are shortlisted, you will be invited to attend an interview at a mutually convenient site location.

Interviews take place in the summer season (May to August) when the majority of our sites are open and therefore when our managers (also employed seasonally) are available. If you are successful at interview, we will invite you to carry out work experience at one of our sites, normally within seven days of the interview.

Work experience usually involves you shadowing and working with existing staff for two days. This work is unpaid and is essential in giving you a flavour of what the role involves and whether this is the right role for you. Work experience normally takes place in the summer season. If you are successful at the work experience stage you will then be invited to the final stage of our recruitment process: the introductory course. This usually takes place between December and April at either Blackmore (Worcestershire) or Windermere (Lake District).

If you have been successful at the introductory course day you will then be considered for employment as and when a vacancy becomes available, hopefully for the next available season but it could be the year after.

Each year we have approximately 400 Holiday Site Assistant vacancies available on seasonal contracts at our various sites in the UK. We allocate contracts to our returning staff first. This takes place from around September to the following January each year. We can then determine what vacancies are available for new recruits and those are allocated usually between January and April.
