How to get to Yorkshire Wildlife Park by car?
Getting to Yorkshire Wildlife Park by car is simple. Type the postcode DN9 3QY into your satnav and follow the directions. Unfortunately, navigation systems which have not been updated may take you to the old car park, so as you approach the wildlife park, make sure you follow the brown tourist signs.
If you’re driving without a satnav, here are some key points to follow to get to Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
- Use the A1 or M1 and take the M18
- Exit the M18 at Junction 3
- Follow signs for the airport
- Continue on Great Yorkshire Way (A6182) until the second roundabout and take the first exit to stay on Great Yorkshire Way
- At the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Hurst Lane and continue straight
- After crossing the railway bridge, stay in the left lane and take the first exit at the roundabout
- Follow the brown tourist signs to reach Yorkshire Wildlife Park car park

The nearest train station to Yorkshire Wildlife Park is Doncaster Station. From here, you can get a short taxi ride to the park or catch the bus. The 357 bus will take you to Hurst Lane/Popular Way, where it’s a 10-minute walk to the park.

Polar Bears
Yorkshire Wildlife Park boasts the largest collection of polar bears in the UK and is at the forefront of polar bear welfare and conservation through its Project Polar initiative. Learn all about the magnificent creatures and watch them roam around, play, eat and fight with one another.
Lions
A raw that can be heard from the moment you enter Yorkshire Wildlife Park comes from these ferocious large cats. Walk around the lion park and see what the king of the jungle is up to. You can listen to the rangers tell fascinating stories about the lions and watch them being fed by the park rangers.
Leopards
Another member of the cat family that can be found at Yorkshire Wildlife Park are leopards. Classified as ‘Critically Endangered,’ only 75 Amur leopards remain in the world. Zoos and wildlife parks are working on conserving these endangered animals and protecting them from poachers. You can learn more about the Amur leopard at the park and watch their daily feed.
Rhinos
Meet the Black Rhinos at Yorkshire Wildlife Park. In January 2024, Makibo and Najuma gave birth to an adorable male calf, expanding the rhino family to four. A black rhino's gestation period is 15-16 months, so you can see the joy that spread across the wildlife park when they welcomed their new member.

Spend time behind the scenes at Project Polar. You’ll get the chance to meet the largest collection of polar bears in England and get an insight into their behaviour and biology. A ranger will escort you on a 60-minute adventure where you can ask any questions and feed the polar bears.
Carnivore experience
Spend an afternoon with the Yorkshire Wildlife Park carnivore rangers as you meet the popular and ferocious deadly mammals. Come face to face with the Amur tigers, hyenas, painted dogs and the critically endangered Amur leopards. Pangea - Discovery of Dinosaurs

Yorkshire Wildlife Park introduces the brand new Pangea Discovery of Dinosaurs land, where visitors can explore five new lands and spot some large and terrifying creatures. Dogs at Yorkshire Wildlife Park
Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the park, except in animal walkthrough areas. When purchasing your ticket at the gate or before you enter the park, please inform a member of staff that you have an assistance dog, so they can show you which map to follow.
