Lovely site - yes it rained a lot, but there were hot spells too, and even in the rain the scenery was simply amazing. The mountains & the lake were stunning. The bike path along the lake to annecy was fabulous, great pool, fun slide for the kids, evening activities (bike display & giant scalectrix) and even firework display at campsite further up the road to go to. The paragliding, hiking (even with 6 & 8 yr old) was great, boat trip hop on and off around the lake, annecy town, swimming in the lake, moutain luge track - just so much to do. Or of course do nothing & just sit back and enjoy the mountain air. Kids made some great friends. Local supermakets, good choice of local restaurants, bread & pastries onsite in mornings, shop & bar & pizzas available onsite too. We had a fabulous time & would not hesitate to visit again.

We stayed at this site 10 years ago but it has changed significantly. We didn't have any children with us and this now really a site for families with the addition of a bouncy castle and play area since we stayed before. We were allocated 2 pitches right opposite the shower block which seemed to be a magnet for children of all ages (site was almost full so no alternative) I thought this lacked a bit of forward thinking from the people running the site. While the showers were cleaned at the start of the day they soon got in a bit of a state. We had heavy rain which didn't help but there was very little grass in-between pitches (mainly due to reduced light as very dense tree cover), the heavy rain quickly turned this into a mud pool. The site has a shop selling basics and bread etc for the morning and a snack bar - both were handy. The road works were a bit of a nightmare, the seem to be digging up the whole of central Annecy (diversions ok but up rather steep hills) as well as the road from which you access the road leading to the camp site - no signs to help you here and it was rather stressful trying to work it out !!. Carefree contacted us prior to our holiday to tell us that there was some building work being done on the other site we had booked for this trip but strangely
nothing about these road works - a heads up would have been helpful !. On the plus side you can quickly get onto the cycle path to take you into
Annecy and get get views of the lake after walking 3 mins from the site.
