This review is for Château de Poinsouze
We were travelling down to Southern France and we agreed that we would use this site as a halfway house. We were running late and when we phoned the Camp, they could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
On arrival we were met by very friendly Staff who talked through all the details of the Site. We were then taken to our Site which had been requested to be near the Wash Block due to disability needs. The facilities were excellent, something not always available in France, and spotlessly clean as was the whole campsite.
As a result of our first experience we decided that on our way back up from Southern France we would call back in and were not disappointed as the welcome was identical to our first trip. ALL Staff are friendly and have a wonderful sense of humour which after a long drive was much appreciated.
Having been on the road for sometime we decided to use the facilities of the Site Restaurant which again did not disappoint, it was excellent value and the Staff again were very friendly and helpful.
The Site has to be set in one of the nicest settings that we have visited of far in France and there is ample opportunity to go for a walk around the lake while enjoying the local wild life at its best.
For those who just want to laze the day away fishing there are ample fish to be caught, while putting them back once a picture has been taken.
The little town of Bussac which is only a short drive away was excellent on Market Day and we were able to sit back and enjoy that cup of coffee while others did their shopping.
Our only regret is that were not here long enough.
However we will be back again next year and for a longer period than this year.
