Summer Rally here - find out more

Les Bois du Bardelet enjoys a picturesque setting in the Loire Valley, with plenty to occupy younger families and couples alike, both on and off site. There is excellent local cycling and walking, with the extensive 'Loire à vélo' cycle route only about three miles away, via country roads and the local cycle tracks. Even in high season, the peaceful and spacious grounds, the popular fishing lake (including some huge carp), and the wide range of facilities for children make the site a relaxing summer holiday location for everyone. There’s the benefit of heated swimming pools, both indoor and outdoor, as well as the fitness room. The nearby Château de Guédelon, a reconstruction of a medieval castle, featured on TV and open spring to mid-autumn, is well-worth a visit. This is a lovely, ideal base for exploring the countryside south of Paris and the eastern Loire and the Sologne, but perfect for just taking it easy on site too.

Owned and run by the Pigeon family, English spoken.

This review is for Les Bois du Bardelet

Plenty to do on site from swimming to fishing to canoeing to archery to name but a few of the free activities as a result of club membership. Get togethers with stewards were great fun and introduced you to your fellow campers. Site was fantastic with good range of activities and great sized pitches compared to some in France. Toilet / Shower block was functional rather than luxurious but was clean and had plenty of hot water. For such a sized site it was very relaxed and the reception team spoke good english as well. Site shop had just the basics but you could order fresh bread every day. Would definitely go back and reccomend site to all but especially families.

Access to the site from the main road was difficult, as the instructions said there was a sign to it, on the central reservation of the dual carriageway, but unfortunately this was missing. Toilet block always clean however, there were only 2 plate washing sinks - this didn't affect us but if the site was busy it might have caused congestion. There was another block, but a distance away. Very helpful reception staff - booked us a taxi and spoke to the driver to arrange meeting point for our return journey - also booked this for us. Just one minor comment - there was no dedicated Motorhome service point - the drainage gully was in the middle of the road at a mini roundabout, which was a bit odd - holding up traffic! Lovely planting through the site, making very pleasant walkways through.
