We enjoyed every minute of our stay here.

This review is for Auf Kengert

We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. Facilities were great, one block was older and had the toilets in them, the second block was modern and had private washrooms and large shower cubicles. Pool, although cold was great for the kids (13 and 11) large play area, field and a barefoot walking trail. The shop was open from 8am right through until 10pm and was stocked with everything you could imagine! Fresh breads and danish pastries were on offer first thing, on a first come first served basis. The restaurant was amazing value for money and offered a variety of hot foods, and snacks. Over all we would highly recommend this site, and will definitely be returning ourselves.

We loved this campsite and we loved Luxembourg.

This review is for Auf Kengert

We loved this campsite and we loved Luxembourg. Auf Kengert is a smallish site with a very relaxed and informal atmosphere. The staff were extremely pleasant and it is away from anything that may produce unwanted noise like busy roads or railway lines. There is no evening 'entertainment' to contend with. Visitors were from Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the UK and it seemed popular with families. The pitches seem to vary in size but ours was enormous. The toilet and shower facilities are plentiful and very clean, and there is a new facilities block. There is also free WiFi. There is a small shop which is very useful and a restaurant and bar which was also good. The pool is fun with a shallow section for smaller ones. The water was a bit cold and it was never very busy while we were there. There is loads of space for children to play with a large outside play area and an inside soft play area. There is a fabulous walk which took us about half an hour through the woods to the Castle in Larochette. The Castle is really worth a visit and the walk makes it even more special. You can then drop down into the town from the Castle via steep paths. There is a decent sized supermarket and pharmacy in Larochette. The facilities at this site are very good, but it is the location, atmosphere and friendliness of this site that made it for us one of the best we have visited in Europe and we would definitely return.

The site was apprx.

This review is for Auf Kengert

The site was apprx. 2km by road from the nearest small town offering good connections to all parts of Luxembourg. Parts of France, Germany and Belgium were also easily reached for a day trip. Bus and train services best for getting to Luxembourg city were nearby too. There were plenty of picturesque villages in the area, known as little Switzerland, Luxembourg's only chairlift at Vianden together with castles and museums. Several museums document the troubles faced by Luxembourg during the wars. For those wishing outdoor activities there is a huge network of paths. A 45min forest walk is signposted from the campsite leading to the village. We got lost but are assured most people find it perfectly easily so it must just have been us!! The local village of Larochette has a couple of good restaurants, supermarket and petrol garage. The village is dominated by a ruined castle well worth an afternoon visit. The site itself is slightly sloping but not so much you cannot pitch properly. There are 2 blocks, one older style with toilets and basins (some in cubicles) and dishwashing facilities. The other at the opposite end of the site (so you are never that far from a block) has the same again plus showers and some cubicles with shower and basin - very handy! No matter what time of day you went all facilities were clean and never seemed to be closed. The bar and restaurant provided a good range of well cooked food. The shop was well stocked with all basics and some extras (souvenirs etc). Fresh bread is delivered daily to order during low season and first come first served during high season. The staff at the site were very friendly, very helpful and helped us make the most of our stay. For children there is a playground and swimming pool both of which got a seal of approval from our kids aged 14 and 10. We had a fabulous holiday at this site and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Great family welcome with a lovely quiet site which is great for relaxation walking or cycling( very hilly). I was amazed by the shop and it's low prices and stock. Everything for caravan and campers you could think of, converters, catches, pegs and more. A great pool and a lovely patio area for food which was lovely and reasonably priced, easy to access Luxembourg City via the train from manche with outdoor no height restricted parking and free ! Train tickets 7 for two adult returns. The young girl in the restaurant who served us told us about the city and the walls and royal palace and she was right, you have to go. A great site in the hills with everything you could want.
