Already one of our most popular rallies after just two seasons, as the Alicante region remains very sought after, the campsite is first rate, and the area offers a winning combination of mountains, sea, countryside and historic cities. A function room and the site restaurant, in the main facilities complex, are available for some rally activities. This is a large site, so bikes are recommended for getting around. In January and February particularly the site tends to be busy with visitors from across Europe and can be in high demand, so early booking for your full intended stay is recommended. In quieter times some activities may be opened up to other campers at the discretion of the Rally Stewards, to ensure the viability of any activity. Some, such as rally dinners, may be ticket only.
Rally Date: 01 11 2014 - 01 04 2015
We recommend that you book your entire rally stay as early as possible.
Brand new in 2011, this top quality site is already a firm favourite
Rally Dates 1 Nov 2014 - 1 Apr 2015 (Members only)
The range, quality and scale of facilities of this new in 2011 site, plus the free activities, have wowed members in our first two years here. Marjal Costa Blanca is only a short drive from the coast, but benefits from a great countryside location, with easy access to and from the motorway. There are views of the nearby mountains from many pitches, a natural park popular among bird watchers just nearby, golf courses and cycle routes in the area, and the small town of Catral close by. Very carefully thought out, the large camping area is split into several blocks, divided by wide access roads, each with a central promenade with dropped kerbs at crossings. Ecology and access are the name of the game, with almost everywhere accessible to wheelchairs. Pitches are spacious and extremely well-equipped, with electricity, water, drainage, Wi-Fi and TV connection. Wash blocks are superbly well-equipped, and as they often tend to become local social hubs, each one also has a small, attractive garden, complete with seats and a boules pitch, just outside. The spa (pay on site) is excellent, and our special member rates include access to the gym and indoor pools from Monday to Friday. Marjal Costa Blanca was eagerly awaited for many years, and for anyone who wants a high quality, very well-equipped site, with much to see and visit in the area - or, if you prefer, no need to leave the site - members agree that both the site and the excellent service offered by its team have proved well worth the wait.

The site is about 16k from the coast. The small town of Catral is withing walking distance. There are many small towns in the area if you have a car. Local markets are good. The site put on entertainment in the bar usually twice a week. The plaza is a good place to have a drink or a snack.
We found a bike to be useful. The rally provided a train to take us to the social events they organised,
We particularly enjoyed the ballroom and line dancing classes.

The Rally Stewards and assistants welcomed us and throughout our stay were very helpful. We were able to choose our own pitch within the rally area. The entire rally was varied and although we did not join in every activity, there was something for everyone. Long walks up the hills for the very fit, short walks on the flat for the not so active. The Rally area had 2 boules pitches, so games were going on every day. We were given exclusive use of the small pool within the Spa Complex for Aqua-Gym with a trainer three times a week, and you could also pre-book use of pool and spa facilities for free individually. Also ballroom dancing and line dancing lessons weekly. In the evenings there was a variety of things going on, the highlight being the Social Evening when the site sent a "train" to transport us all to the Restaurant for a very pleasant evening with dancing, chatting, and sometimes entertainment by rally members or site staff. There was also Beetle Drives, Whist Drives and an afternoon street party. Several Coach Outings were arranged at very reasonable prices. This was a bonus to Motorhomers, as the site is a bit of a distance from any major cities. For car owners and cyclists however, it is fine. There are numerous street markets held during the week. The nearest beach is about 16km, but is well worth a visit at Guardamar or La Marina. Crevellente is the nearest big shopping centre and is about 12km away, but along the AP7 motorway, so doesn't take long. The shop on site is small but you can buy essentials. There is a great restaurant within walking distance called Casa Harri. Food is typical spanish as opposed to tourist spanish and is 10 Euro each for a 4 course meal including drinks and coffee. However, the food in the Marjal complex is very good, and is in a lovely setting. We found the whole experience very relaxing and can't wait to book for next Winter.

Fantastic amenities, spa, gym, bar and restaurant, hairdresser, supermarket, vet and loads going on if you want to be active. Walking distance of town with market, really good restaurants nearby and the coast within striking distance. For us the easy dogwalking was also a big plus! The staff were helpful and friendly and we all loved the entertainment team who made the aqua aerobics and dancing such fun to do. Will definitely be back next year....!
