(2016-17 Winter Season) - 20 Sep – 21 Apr Stewarded by Gerry and Trish Newton. While autumn is generally less busy than the winter period, a good programme of activities is usual, with more and more members discovering the benefits of a warm early autumn break. The rally builds in popularity to the peak period, usually from Christmas to the beginning of March, when the area is bustling with visitors from across Europe, the site is in very high demand, and early booking for your full intended stay is essential. Typical rally activities (subject to demand) may include theme meal nights, fancy dress nights and shows by ralliers, craft sessions, line dancing, yoga, pilates, quiz evenings, games nights, boules, skuttles, barbecues, walks, hikes, bike rides, distillery or bodega trips, excursions to places of interest, and more.
A valid Camping Card International (CCI), available from the Club, is required for all our overseas rallies.
This large rally is a favourite and extremely popular, and members should book the maximum stay required. Arriving early or extending your stay on site may not be possible, especially in January and February but increasingly during other periods, with any such extensions to be made at reception and charged at the full public tariff.
The campsite is in an area with a great deal to offer, and the rally usually varies in character from the autumn (which is now becoming more and more popular), through the Christmas and New Year festivities, and then into the peak in January to mid-March. In quieter times, at the discretion of the Rally Stewards, some activities may be opened up to other campers, so as to ensure their viability. Conversely, space may be at a premium for some activities (perhaps rally dinners, for example), which may operate on a ticket only basis. The rally is complemented by a full programme of site-organised excursions, fitness activities and social events. To try out a first visit, we recommend a stay of at least two weeks, as any ticketed events (especially during the peak) often sell out 10-14 days beforehand.
Up to 180 rally pitches (subject to demand), in areas I/J, K and L. Nearly all members will be sited in K area, with all this area having to be filled before pitches can be allocated in the adjacent L area, which is the more shaded area. The large (100m²) pitches are in area I/J, also adjacent to K.
Reception and supermarket 350m away from centre of area K. Pool bar function room adjacent to main rally area K. Mirador main function room, bar and restaurant all next to the beach, 750m.
Rally Date: 20 09 2016 - 21 04 2017
We recommend that you book your entire rally stay as early as possible.

With its great location on the Mar Menor lagoon, La Manga is a destination with lots to offer.
Rally Dates 20 Sep 2016 - 15 Apr 2017 (Members only)
La Manga resort, the beautiful coastal area of Calblanque, fishing villages such as Cabo de Palos, and several golf courses are close by, while the whole region is reported to have the lowest average rainfall in Europe. Walking and cycling in the locality are popular occupations among members here, but it’s also a great site for simply relaxing, with the convivial tapas bar on the beach a favourite spot for passing the time. Our most popular site, La Manga has been welcoming Club members for 18 years, and offers rallying from early autumn right through into spring. The peak period is December to early March, while other times are generally quieter, although during Semana Santa (Holy Week, leading up to Easter Monday), the campsite and the local area are likely to be very busy as Spanish campers come to celebrate. During this week local celebrations can last well into the night and provide an insight into how Spanish people love a fiesta.

This site provides a wealth of fantastic activities, organised by both rally stewards and the site owners. It has a friendly atmosphere. Pitches are large and well screened. The site shop is excellent, We enjoyed going to the bar and restaurant on the shoreline. Site wifi is poor, (go for the outside contractor). Our toilet block (Ares L) was very cramped and in need of serious renovation. The 5 Shower cubicles were too small to change in and lacked seating or effective clothes hooks, they delivered tepid water that could not be controlled, The 4 washbasins were severely cramped. Tap water temperature could not be controlled. It was tepid for shaving and the toothbrush! The room was kept warm, but this encouraged cockroaches! The dishwashing area outside had chipped sinks and some black mould in jointwork. The site adjoins intensively farmed land. When the wind is strong dust is blown onto the site in dry weather. Also when they spray effluent before sowing the next crop, we got the smell for a few days .The crops are frequently sprayed with chemicals. The shoreline is sandy and gently shelving. Strong winds are great for wind surfers. The immediate surrounding area is ideal for cycling! It is flat and has a multitude of cycle lanes, service roads. and nice promenades to use. Walkers can explore the nearby rocky coastline with lovely coastal views. Cabo de Palos with its' lighthouse and outside quayside bars is worth several bike rides. En route one can use the two supermarkets and Aldi. Los Belones is pleasant, and has an English Butcher! Further afield there are good restaurants and a really testing crazy golf course (great fun!). La Manga golf courses need no introduction. The staff at this camp are long serving, helpful, and friendly. Despite La M's shortcomings, the stewards and the members (many come each year) do much to make the stay busy and interesting. Would we return? Probably not. Twice is enough it's time to move on

The sounding area is generally quite flat and good for cycling I did cycle about 12 Miles one afternoon. There are always activities on site if you want to join in.
Will definitely return, Thanks to Gerry and Trish for all their local knowledge and time that they take to ensure our holiday was a success.

We arrived mid september on the site and had to review the autuum rally as it was excellent in our opinion. The stewards Tracy and Colin were younger than most and brought fun and vitality and new ideas and twists to evening entertainment. We loved the camel and reindeer racing nights with cocktails made to order. Supper nights were fun with disco dancing till late in the evening with Alex. The atmosphere was throughout easy going. The events were well organised and very enjoyable. Hope to see these stewards back next year and improved shower blocks and better heating would improve overall ratings for this site.
