Overview

Countryside setting on edge of Ordesa National Park, in the Pyrenees

Members have commented on the friendly welcome and helpfulness of the staff, while the high-quality facilities are in traditional-style buildings and the site enjoys a south-facing location and easy access via French motorways and the central Pyrenees' Somport tunnel (the Somport route is advised only outside the winter months). Gavín makes a great base for the snow-covered mountains, lakes and rivers, as well as the culture and restaurants of the stunning Spanish Pyrenees and their local towns and villages. The Aragon region is different to any other – once you have discovered it, you will want to return.

A large, well developed site in a good area for outdoors types, with excellent facilities incuding a good bar and restaurant. (Wifi available, but in the bar only.) Two minor negatives: - usually only one person on duty to cover reception, bar and shop, so often you wait to be attended to. - although dogs are allowed, facilities for them aren't the best; not allowed in the bar, only one entrance/exit to the site and no provision for walking your dog unless you go out of the main entrance and find a nearby path.
