We recently stayed on this site for 7 days with some friends on the comfort pitches with water and drainage. The site at first was fairly quiet but soon began to get busy with people arriving for the Andre Rieu concerts. On checking in we had to pay 20 euros deposit for the barrier key and we were given 10 tokens per couple for the showers, we were aware that that the showers were 0.75 euros. There were 2 sanitary blocks which at the busy time were stretched and on several occasions had a very unpleasant smell. There was a bar and swimming pool on the site which we never used. Wi fi was available at a small charged but I couldn't access it. We did not use all of our shower tokens as my wife preferred to use the caravan shower When I used the showers the water lasted for approx 7minutes then suddenly cut off so you had to be quick. When it came to checking out we handed our unused tokens back in and it was then that we were told we had used more than our allocated amount of electricity and we would have to pay the extra, when I pointed out we had never been informed of this the owner pointed to a small notice on the counter which unless you were specifically looking for something like that you would never notice it.

Good place to use as a base to visit Belgium and Germany.

Good place to use as a base to visit Belgium and Germany. Campsite itself is laid out in to areas which are either fenced in our with hedges, because of this we had to use our mover to position the caravan due to the way the pitches are set out. The toilet facilities are in 2 separate buildings, one is by the entrance gate and has similar layout as found in the UK. The other one is newer but the showers/sinks, toilets are in different rooms. Showers are of the token variety (75 cents). You get more than enough time as we never ran out of time. There is a 20 euro deposit for the gate card, which is refunded when you leave. They take out the cost of shower tokens and wifi charge from this. Wifi can be sporadic as the day goes on. The site is easy to get to as long as you follow the recommended routes. Valkenburg is a very pretty town with loads of restaurants, the castle is well worth a visit as is going on the cable car which from the top gives nice views of the castle and town. Parking in town is quite expensive with some sites having maximum staying times of 2 hours. Overall a good site, the Dutch people are very friendly and will take the time to talk and suggest places to visit.

We were held up on our way to this site and had booked on the sites shuttle service to see Andre rieu in Maastricht. We phoned to let the site know we wouldn't be on the shuttle and would have to try and make our own way in to see the concert. When we arrived at the site the manager and probable owner said choose a pitch as quickly as possible and had arranged for one of his staff to drive the restaurants car to take us to see the concert. What a night and only possible by the good nature and kindness of the site. It's ashame we only had one night as this I'm sure would be a great site and on the Amstel gold circuit too! ( it's a cycle racers thing :). Cleanliness great and restaurant lovely.
