Overview

Enjoy the beauty of Scotland's west coast and islands from our campsite in a walled garden.

Our Oban Club campsite on Scotland’s west coast enjoys a beautifully secluded location hidden in a glorious Victorian walled vegetable garden. The sheltered, level campsite is next door to Sutherland’s grove, a Forestry Commission woodland criss-crossed by colour-coded walks and cycle paths. Opposite the campsite is a marina with a little beach you can walk along.

This well-maintained, 75-pitch campsite has excellent, modern facilities including a parent and child room, washing up area and a newly refurbished toilet.

There’s a sandy beach at nearby Benderloch and the wonderful family friendly Ben Lora cafe and bookshop comes highly recommended. Take the path opposite up to the summit of Beinn Lora and you'll be rewarded with fantastic views across to Mull.

Oban, known as the seafood capital of Scotland, is 13 miles to the south of the campsite. The town is renowned for the variety and quality of seafood landed in the harbour, not surprising there are numerous great seafood restaurants in and around the town centre. Oban also boasts its own malt whisky distillery and several local micro breweries.

You can take a ferry from Oban to the Western Isles, or visit Dunollie Museum and Castle and the Oban War and Peace Museum.

Further south, the island of Easdale is well worth a drive for the breathtaking views over the Firth of Lorn.

Please note that there is a height restriction at site entrance (arch) of 3.4m ( 11ft 2in).

A very well positioned site for those seeking a peaceful or an active break.

A very well positioned site for those seeking a peaceful or an active break. Good cycling routes from the Camp for a leisurely cycle. A 5 mile cycle to a Cafe/ Bookshop and local shops that stock most provisions. Or a longer route( 35 miles) if you are feeling energetic.A number of Forest walking routes for those who do not wish to walk the main cycle path are also in close proximity. A Bus Stop is outside the Campsite, where you can take the Bus to Oban. We did this and had an enjoyable day browsing there and tasting fantastic Fish and Chips. There are also numerous opportunities for trips out in the surrounding area which is very picturesque and unspoilt. Visit and stay at this site, you will not be disappointed!!!

We loved it and so did our dog.

We loved it and so did our dog. We could walk straight into the countryside park which was full of wildlife. The loch was just over the road but best access to lots of lovely beaches was a couple of miles down the road. We visited mull for the day and spent lots of time investigating the area. This site is much better than the caravan club site down the road which is much bigger, and very much like 'Clapham junction',

We had a week in the area but sadly only two nights on this site (book in advance if possible!). Everything was extremely good and the wardens very helpful indeed. We liked it so much that we are coming back to stay in three weeks time. There is absolutely outstanding food available in the area. If you like seafood do try and book into the Seafood Temple 01631 566000 (two sittings 1815 and 2030) where the food is truly delicious. We enjoyed it so much we literally stayed an extra two days in the area just so we could go there again on the Tuesday (they are closed Sun/Mon). There is so much to do locally, lots of lovely walks and opportunities for all water pursuits. The Bridge over the Atlantic where the mainland is joined to Seil island is also a 'must'. Very pretty with a lovely coastline and the rare alpine flowers on the bridge itself. Can't wait to return.
