An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the North Cornish coast

You’ll find some of north Cornwall’s best bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach of our Bude Club campsite. The campsite boasts a prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Bude lies nine miles to the north, while south are Tintagel and Camelford.

After a day spent soaking up the sun on the beach our Bude campsite is the perfect place to sit back and relax and enjoy the fantastic views over rolling countryside. Bordered by hedges, the campsite has a separate field and you’ll find a recreation room in the facilities block and a small children’s play area opposite reception to keep younger campers entertained while on site.

There’s a pleasant walk to Crackington Haven over fields and stiles from site where you’ll find a sandy beach and an abundance of rock pools. The nearby fishing port of Boscastle is worth visiting. Learn about the legend of King Arthur in Tintagel, enjoy a cliff top walk to the castle ruins and Merlin’s Cave. Just south of Tintagel Trebarwith Strand is a popular surfing beach and dog-friendly. Port Isaac, made famous by TV’s Doc Martin and Boscastle, a delightful fishing port with white washed cottages, steep narrow streets and alleyways, should not be missed.

North of Bude campsite, Widemouth Bay and Blackrock Sands is fabulous for surfing and sunbathing.

We were greeted warmly by the site staff and were given a choice of pitches in the field close to the main road. Others have mentioned the road noise - Yes it was noisy at times but this didn't spoil our stay. Being around 8 miles from Bude was not a problem for us, and my husband could walk to the shop about a mile from the site for his morning paper. The facilities were very clean, but could do with some improvements - the showers were small and meant water often escaped the cubicle and made the floor very slippy. If you are there on a Wednesday, the fish and chips are worth having. There were excellent and reasonably priced. We will return to the site again but would suggest it is a good site to use more as a stop-over one - the club needs to invest in this site's facilities I believe.

Good location and set back from a39. Book tables at local pubs in advanced. Bude is looking tired not a patch on Lyme Regis. Give milky way a miss. Widemouth Bay Restaurant is good, with great views over the sea.

No hot showers for females, limited water supply points ( except for the lack of drainage when heavy rain flooded the non drainage site) Limited Staff cover, were efficient but unable to rectify site issues. Home early, to washing & dry out all clothes and equipment, from the stream of water running through the water logged site and pitches. And we were in a van An overall Dissapointing end to our introduction to camping and caravan club sites. PS, we are not fair weather campers, and camp all year round, but some things are sent to test us!
