With an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Children’s play area
Bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach

The surrounding area

You’ll find some of north Cornwall’s best bathing and surfing beaches within easy reach of our Bude Club campsite. The campsite boasts a prime location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Boscastle and Crackington Haven. Bude lies nine miles to the north, while south are Tintagel and Camelford.

There’s a pleasant walk to Crackington Haven over fields and stiles from site where you’ll find a sandy beach and an abundance of rock pools. The nearby fishing port of Boscastle is worth visiting. Learn about the legend of King Arthur in Tintagel, enjoy a cliff top walk to the castle ruins and Merlin’s Cave. Just south of Tintagel Trebarwith Strand is a popular surfing beach and dog-friendly. Port Isaac, made famous by TV’s Doc Martin and Boscastle, a delightful fishing port with white washed cottages, steep narrow streets and alleyways, should not be missed.

North of Bude campsite, Widemouth Bay and Blackrock Sands is fabulous for surfing and sunbathing.

Nowhere on site or nearby to exercise dog despite advertising as dog friendly.

Nowhere on site or nearby to exercise dog despite advertising as dog friendly. The site only had a 1mx30m fenced line in back of of camping field stating everywhere 'dogs to be on a lead, no ball games' - no good for an energetic dog who needs to run and to chase a ball. We we told by staff that we could also use the lay-by outside campsite to exercise dog - not practical as busy A39! Advertised 'walk to beach' was a 4 mile walk in each direction to Crackington Haven beach - again not dog friendly walk or beach, so no good to us. Bude/Widemouth (dog friendly) some 8+ miles away from the site, so car journey needed every time. Staff were wonderful and very friendly, cleanliness was good and it was a lovely quiet site BUT it was misleading advertising and I would not have booked had I realised how impractical it was for a dog and walks to beach etc. Also, we were given a pitch very close to a VERY smelly septic tank - perhaps good idea to think about another use for this area as 5 nights in tent next to septic tank was not ideal either. Overall couldn't fault the lovely staff but the site was very disappointing.

We enjoyed our stay at bude the camp staff are welcoming and helpful .

We enjoyed our stay at bude the camp staff are welcoming and helpful . The small shop has goods for sale . The nearest pub about a mile away . Larger supermarkets are further away. The facilities onsite are more than adequate. Some of the downsides are that the location is very open and thus the weather can influence pitching of units. The staff try to put units in a suitable position where they are sheltered from the weather. A little traffic noise is heard but this is because of the position of the site on the a39. Facilities for children include a playground and a recreation room with pool table and ping pong. There is also clothes washing facilities and a information centre with well stocked information leaflet telling of local attractions in the area

Tintagel Castle is not to be missed & there are lots of places to eat too. Bude is about 8 miles away & we had an excellent evening meal there at The Deck. Crackington Haven is a nice walk from the site, Pub there is great too.

Great for bike rides camel trail is half an hour away, coast to coast is an hour.

Great for bike rides camel trail is half an hour away, coast to coast is an hour. Bude is 8 miles away. The nearest beach is 4 miles. We were glad of the pub a mile down the road for a change of scenery in the evening. We were expecting to be able to meander down to the beach in the evening but it was too far-we had a great time out every day but felt like driving an awful lot, will choose somewhere more central next time. There are boundaries for all units on each pitch due to fire regs, we were scalded for going slightly over, somewhat petty! Personally disappointed with the amount of rules CCC generally impose, considering it is for holidaymakers...we don't find this when camping elsewhere.
