Tregurrian is a great for watersports & people looking for a seaside holiday.

Camp at our Tregurrian Club campsite and you’ll be spoilt for choice of beaches to visit. There are fourteen close to our stunning campsite in the North Cornwall, located just north of the popular seaside town of Newquay.

Watergate Bay is the closest and is a short walk from the campsite along the South West Coastal Path. This two-mile stretch of golden sand is popular with families. The Atlantic swell here also makes it equally appealing to watersport lovers. The beach hosts annual surfing events too.

Surfers will also be drawn to Newquay for Fistral Beach which also hosts a number of events through the summer including surf championships, a fun dog show and the popular Boardmasters event which includes skate and BMX competitions, live music and competitive surfing. Other attractions of the town include Newquay Zoo, and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway and you could spot seals and dolphins in the harbour.

Our pretty Tregurrian campsite offers 90 level pitches. The well thought out site has immaculate faciliites including a handy wetsuit shower.

A few miles up the coast Padstow has some excellent restaurants, including one owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein while Watergate Bay is home to Jamie Oliver’s 15 Cornwall Restaurant.

Worth Noting

There is a wetsuit shower on site. Watergate Bay Beach is just 0.75 miles away and is dog-friendly all year round.

We have just returned from this site following a short break.

This review is for Tregurrian

We have just returned from this site following a short break. The site is easy to find and in an ideal location for exploring the coast. We have been visiting Cornwall a few times a year for 20 years, and this is an ideal base to visit some of the very best (and doggy freindly) beaches Cornwall has to offer. watergate is fab, perfect set up for families and very close (in walking distance), which will help save the pennies. Also easy are crantock, Perranporth, Mawgan porth is very close, (with a fantastic shop and take away), the list is endless. walking in the costal path is 5 mintues from site, and the bedruthan steps area is simply stunning. a 5 minute drive from site. The site was very neat and tidy and the grass kept short (maybe better done a bit later on a sunday morning!) the facilities were very good, only 2 showers in the one field we were in, but both were always clean and empty when i went over. Good facilities for surfers and boarders as a good area for cleaning down kit and wet suits etc. didnt try anything else. no signal or wifi but we were in a corner. one words on this, there is a large campsite facility to the rear and a park backs one field, very loud groups of kids until after 11.30pm one night, so perhaps ask for a plot away from this if youre in a tent and like a peaceful night. Overall a very good base for a classic Cornish holiday, whatever your age or activity. Also nb a fish and chip van visits fridays and tuesdays, a strawberry seller and they offer newspapers daily and other orderable items which would be handy for a longer break.

Very clean site, well laid out with two fields separated by a narrow lane.

Very clean site, well laid out with two fields separated by a narrow lane. Each field has its own facility block albeit smallish but kept spotless. Within walking distance of Watergate Bay beach but easier to drive as its steep uphill walk coming back. Fish & Chip van every Tues and Fri and a small shop on site. Usual C&CC amenities available. Although we had several days of heavy rain / fog whilst there, the site never became boggy or waterlogged. Although the site is adjacent to the flight path for Newquay Airport, noise was never a problem. Great site for quiet coastal getaway with Newquay only 4 miles away and a selection of beaches close by. Will be back.

Quite an energetic coastal walk down (and back) from Watergate Bay beach.

Quite an energetic coastal walk down (and back) from Watergate Bay beach. Very handy for Padstow and Newquay. Beach at Mawgan Portth exellent. All beaches in the area dog friendly. Some aircraft noise as Newquay Airport very close. We had the experience of a NATO AWACS aircraft doing landing/take off training on one day, great for aircraft spotters and kids, noisy for rest.
