Tregurrian is a great for watersports & people looking for a seaside holiday.

Camp at our Tregurrian Club campsite and you’ll be spoilt for choice of beaches to visit. There are fourteen close to our stunning campsite in the North Cornwall, located just north of the popular seaside town of Newquay.

Watergate Bay is the closest and is a short walk from the campsite along the South West Coastal Path. This two-mile stretch of golden sand is popular with families. The Atlantic swell here also makes it equally appealing to watersport lovers. The beach hosts annual surfing events too.

Surfers will also be drawn to Newquay for Fistral Beach which also hosts a number of events through the summer including surf championships, a fun dog show and the popular Boardmasters event which includes skate and BMX competitions, live music and competitive surfing. Other attractions of the town include Newquay Zoo, and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway and you could spot seals and dolphins in the harbour.

Our pretty Tregurrian campsite offers 90 level pitches. The well thought out site has immaculate faciliites including a handy wetsuit shower.

A few miles up the coast Padstow has some excellent restaurants, including one owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein while Watergate Bay is home to Jamie Oliver’s 15 Cornwall Restaurant.

I visited this site in late June 2014 for 14 nights.

I visited this site in late June 2014 for 14 nights. I loved this site and would go back next year. Below is a list of Pros and Cons based on the 2nd field/site over the road from the main site and reception where the smaller tents tend to be. Pros Very Friendly welcome, by managers and assistants. Clean well maintained site and facilities. Quiet site Cons Usual small toilet block that the club provide. As a camper in a normal tent, I rely heavily on these. The second field toilet block had two sinks to wash in, two toilets, no urinals and two showers and one very small hand basin. With between 30 to 40 pitches in this field and most caravanners using these facilities as well, you usually had to queue if you used these between 8.30 and 9.30 in the morning. Site shop was closed a lot due to the managers cleaning toilets and site maintenance this to be because the assistants went home, or to another site after the first weekend, (Note: I dont believe this to be the managers fault but C&CC for not replacing the assistants). Also my holiday was spoilt to a point by the control of dogs by their owners. Over the 14 nights I lost count how often dogs were running free on long retractable leads which led too dogs weeing up wind breaks and car wheels etc. The last two mornings of my stay I stepped out of my tent to find that some had let dog go for a poo outside my tent (within the gap between my tent and the and the guides ropes). It would seem that a dog had been let out during the night to go to the toilet without its owner, who then called it back after a while, twice. I would like to point out at this point there is no dog walk on site but there is a quiet country lane within 40 meters of the furthest pitch where everyone walked there dogs. I hope to return next year because I loved the site and area.

So easy to get the bus into Newquay & to Padstow ,which we did for May 1st celebrations. There are some good walks from the site. Our visit was short, as at Early May BH the prices rose ridiculously. There were only about 10 units on. We moved to a Caravan Club site a few miles away paying 8 pn less than we would have done at Tregurrian Come on C&C club get the prices right. You owe it to your wardens.
