Tregurrian is a great for watersports & people looking for a seaside holiday.

Camp at our Tregurrian Club campsite and you’ll be spoilt for choice of beaches to visit. There are fourteen close to our stunning campsite in the North Cornwall, located just north of the popular seaside town of Newquay.

Watergate Bay is the closest and is a short walk from the campsite along the South West Coastal Path. This two-mile stretch of golden sand is popular with families. The Atlantic swell here also makes it equally appealing to watersport lovers. The beach hosts annual surfing events too.

Surfers will also be drawn to Newquay for Fistral Beach which also hosts a number of events through the summer including surf championships, a fun dog show and the popular Boardmasters event which includes skate and BMX competitions, live music and competitive surfing. Other attractions of the town include Newquay Zoo, and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway and you could spot seals and dolphins in the harbour.

Our pretty Tregurrian campsite offers 90 level pitches. The well thought out site has immaculate faciliites including a handy wetsuit shower.

A few miles up the coast Padstow has some excellent restaurants, including one owned by celebrity chef Rick Stein while Watergate Bay is home to Jamie Oliver’s 15 Cornwall Restaurant.

Worth Noting

There is a wetsuit shower on site. Watergate Bay Beach is just 0.75 miles away and is dog-friendly all year round.

We were on the 2nd field facing the main reception. On this field some of the pitches weren't level, you do get to choose your pitch. The amenities are as you'd expect. They are cleaned everyday and are immaculate. There are 2 dishwashing sinks and the laundry is located next to reception. Newquay airport is located close by and 'big' planes take off as well as military planes, so a few day out of our fortnight they were quite noisy but you do get used to it. The management teams on site are really friendly and helpful and it was nice seeing managers Vanessa and Stephen again. The dog walk is outside both sites. I never found but didn't ask for the walk to the beach as it would have been a long walk and at some point you would need to go up hill and down dale! Newquay was a mare to drive to as it's all one way & when we did find Sainsbury's in town we couldn't find a parking space as it was so busy. If you've got sat nav go to Morrisons as it's about 4 mile from the site and has the cheapest petrol we could fine in cornwall 1.08 unleaded. If you're disabled register your Blue Badge with Cornwall Council for 10 before you go away and you won't need to pay for any of the council car parks. Unless you park on double yellow lines. If you're a vegetarian and love a chippy, please note that the mobile fish & chip van that visits the site cooks in Beef dripping as does the chippy in Mawgan Porth. I found out the hard way! There is a notice in the dishwashing room but not reception. The site is lovely and you do get a stunning view of Newquay from your pitch. The first week of our holiday the weather wasn't that good and at times the site was windy so if you have a storm strap take it. We enjoyed our stay and the site was quiet and relaxing. My only niggle is that you can't book in before 1pm & a few days there was a queue waiting to get into reception which blocked the narrow country lane.
