Pitch on the shores of Lake Windermere and explore the southern Lakes from this site.

Braithwaite Fold campsite sits on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere in the heart of the beautiful Lake District and is a stone’s throw from the linked towns of Bowness and Windermere.

Our compact site has 66 level hardstanding with electric hook up pitches – and is well laid out. There are modern facilities including an undercover washing up area, laundry and disabled facilities. 3 grass pitches for tents only.

Pitch here and you won’t be short of things to do. For starters you can enjoy the many attractions of the lake right from the campsite. Enjoy a steam cruise or have a go at dinghy sailing, power boating or windsurfing. Meet Peter Rabbit and friends at the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness on Windermere.

Catch the chain ferry to the western shore for the National Trust’s Claife Heights, ideal for walking and cycling, the pretty village of Hawkshead - home to Hill Top where Beatrix Potter once lived - and Grizedale Forest Park with its Go Ape high wire adventure area.

Fell Foot Park at the lake’s southern tip is perfect for picnics and paddling. Near here you’ll also find the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway and the Lakes Aquarium.

Worth Noting

This site can only accommodate one car per pitch at all times. If you have more than one car or you are a visiting the camp site you will have to park your car in the pay and display next door to the site.

This review is for Braithwaite Fold

We stayed on this site in June 2017. I have been many times before, but how it is being run is appalling. When entering site there are empty pitches oh can i go there no so we pass all the pitches we would like to go on and finish up with one nobody wants. I also asked when i booked for awning pitch i did not get one.I think it is all about cramming people on now, Anywhere there is a little bit of room put something on it not good enough.Profit first

What a marvellous welcome from the staff at this site.

This review is for Braithwaite Fold

What a marvellous welcome from the staff at this site. The surroundings are great, the toilets are adequate and the local town is wonderful with great shops and even better the pubs.We even went on a boat trip. Many opportunities for sightseeing as well. Our request for a pitch near the toilets fine,no problem at all.The Club site at Keswick did not acknowledge our request, very uncompassionate managers .We will not go back there while the current managers are there, not good customer service.

One of the best sites the club has.The location is brilliant.

This review is for Braithwaite Fold

One of the best sites the club has.The location is brilliant. The local town is not so far away,so plenty of pubs and restaurants. Ideal for a relaxing break .The facilities are adequate, always clean. The staff are a credit to the club.We travelled around Scotland. Also impressed with club sites and the kind nature of the staff. We stopped at Keswick site and the managers were very arrogant, rude and dismissive regarding our requests. Don't think they are fit for the job ,with no customer service skills at all unlike here who are very customer focused.
