Ideal for tent campers and handy for Scafell Pike, Wastwater & Eskdale cycle trail.
Our Eskdale Club campsite is nestled in the beautiful Eskdale Valley in the Lake District.
The area is a paradise for walkers and so Eskdale campsite is well equipped for tent campers, backpackers and cycle campers. Motorhomes are also welcome.
Modern heated facilities include a drying room, showers, washing machine and a well-stocked shop. The campsite also has ten camping pods and a camping barn sleeping up to eight if you fancy glamping or want to camp as a group.
Boot is within walking distance of the campsite with dog-friendly pubs and a station for the seven-mile Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, which passes through the Eskdale Valley. Scafell Pike is easily accessed from the campsite, but if that is a little too ambitious more gentle walks take in Stanley Ghyll Falls and Burnmoor Tarn.
For days out go to Muncaster Castle and the World Owl Centre or enjoy the amazing mountain scenery of the Hardknott and Wrynose Pass.

An incredibly clean and friendly site suitable for families and couples. The site is spotless and the shower facilities are the best we have experienced. The site shop is well stocked with local produce and basic equipment you may have forgotten! The drying room is a real plus for drying wet gear and boots overnight. Martyn and Sara are always on hand for the unexpected, eg tents blowing down in summer gales and are fantastic hosts.
Great walks and bike rides from the site and West Lakes Adventure offer sessions for ghyll scrambling and climbing which are brilliant fun. The local pubs provide high quality food, especially Brookhouse Hotel and The Woolpack. We would highly recommend this site.

Really enjoyed the stay! Two minor areas for improvement are as follows:
1. Camping barn needs to have either cushion or warning signs at the entrance to the barn. Four out of the group of eight bumped heads on the low entrance.
2. No point in paying for the wifi as it doesn't work in or near the barn.

This was our first stay at this campsite and definitely will not be our last. We will be back next year.
The staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The shop has a wide range of food and groceries and at reasonable prices too.
The views from the campsite are truly stunning and there are some great walks and a fabulous waterfall a stones throw from the campsite. 5* star site.

“We have just stayed in the camping barn at Eskdale with two daughters and four grandchildren. It is a superb facility with virtually all the equipment you could want and plenty of electric points. The camp beds are good too. The site is lovely , and was quiet even though packed and full of families with children. The views are wonderful and the station for the steam train to the coast at Ravenglass is a ten minute walk away. The wardens at the site were extremely helpful and friendly, and the shop is very well stocked. The loo facilities seem new and are very clean. ”
