Ideal for tent campers and handy for Scafell Pike, Wastwater & Eskdale cycle trail.

Our Eskdale Club campsite is nestled in the beautiful Eskdale Valley in the Lake District.

The area is a paradise for walkers and so Eskdale campsite is well equipped for tent campers, backpackers and cycle campers. Motorhomes are also welcome.

Modern heated facilities include a drying room, showers, washing machine and a well-stocked shop. The campsite also has ten camping pods and a camping barn sleeping up to eight if you fancy glamping or want to camp as a group.

Boot is within walking distance of the campsite with dog-friendly pubs and a station for the seven-mile Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, which passes through the Eskdale Valley. Scafell Pike is easily accessed from the campsite, but if that is a little too ambitious more gentle walks take in Stanley Ghyll Falls and Burnmoor Tarn.

For days out go to Muncaster Castle and the World Owl Centre or enjoy the amazing mountain scenery of the Hardknott and Wrynose Pass.

Fully equipped Camping Barn - £135 per night
Camping Pods - £43.75 per night

We are very new to camping and this was only our third camping trip in total, Eskdale was recommended and it did not disappoint. The site itself is situated in a valley with some of the most beautiful scenery around, the site shop is very well stocked, be prepared to take enough food as there is no shops other than the site shop for quite some miles. The Shower and toilet area was very clean with excellent showers and plenty of hot running water. The tent area we were on was open and although the weather was mixed the grass was not to boggy, but we had a large degree of wind which was a little scary at times especially during the night. The staff were very welcoming and professional, we felt welcomed and enjoyed our holiday to the degree that we really did not want to come home. The Brook house and the Boot inn are both worth a visit with the food being very good and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed stay and are returning for again for the october half term to celebrate our daughters 18th Birthday with walking and cycling.

Enjoyed an excellent week at the site at the end of September.

Enjoyed an excellent week at the site at the end of September. A week with no rain, almost no wind, warm and sunny. Welcoming staff, good shop, great facilities and pretty quiet through the week. Wonderful walks direct from the site in all directions and the wee train down to Ravenglass (a pleasant walk back as well). Really good meals on 2 nights at the Brook House Inn - recommended.

“We have just stayed in the camping barn at Eskdale with two daughters and four grandchildren. It is a superb facility with virtually all the equipment you could want and plenty of electric points. The camp beds are good too. The site is lovely , and was quiet even though packed and full of families with children. The views are wonderful and the station for the steam train to the coast at Ravenglass is a ten minute walk away. The wardens at the site were extremely helpful and friendly, and the shop is very well stocked. The loo facilities seem new and are very clean. ”
