Ideal for tent campers and handy for Scafell Pike, Wastwater & Eskdale cycle trail.
Our Eskdale Club campsite is nestled in the beautiful Eskdale Valley in the Lake District.
The area is a paradise for walkers and so Eskdale campsite is well equipped for tent campers, backpackers and cycle campers. Motorhomes are also welcome.
Modern heated facilities include a drying room, showers, washing machine and a well-stocked shop. The campsite also has ten camping pods and a camping barn sleeping up to eight if you fancy glamping or want to camp as a group.
Please note this campsite does not allow caravans
Boot is within walking distance of the campsite with dog-friendly pubs and a station for the seven-mile Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, which passes through the Eskdale Valley. Scafell Pike is easily accessed from the campsite, but if that is a little too ambitious more gentle walks take in Stanley Ghyll Falls and Burnmoor Tarn.
For days out go to Muncaster Castle and the World Owl Centre or enjoy the amazing mountain scenery of the Hardknott and Wrynose Pass.

Visited in july in our motorhome, Well run site, in the lakes, the wardens dont stop, very helpfull and friendly. Amazing walks, beautifull views, booked for 2 nights stayed for 10. Journey to site beautifull but no good for caravans. Didn't need to move our mh as plenty of walks, good shop on site and they can get you everthing you need. Would recomend to anyone for peace, nice walks etc.

A lovely stay, but no mobile phone signal nor TV. Not an issue for us on this visit, but feel it should be mentioned in brochure. A very difficult road to negotiate with a larger motorhome, but worth the effort. Love the tranquillity of the site. Good wee shop on sight, and pub next door has a great menu.

Very well maintained site with possibly the best showers of all C&CC sites we've stayed at. Very well run by an enthusiastic couple who try to make sure your stay is the best it can be - whatever the weather! We'll be back!

This is a fantastic site for walking. It has a well-stocked shop, helpful friendly staff and is clean and tidy. Really appreciated the free wifi too!
Only three female showers for a busy site meant long queues.
Our campervan was parked between tents, and they were VERY close such that I had to step over guy ropes when filling up/ removing the cassette, whilst on the other side, our neighbour's car was 4 feet away from our side entrance. All a bit too claustrophobic for me.
If you are taking a campervan or motorhome, be aware that the access roads are narrow and quite busy too.

“We have just stayed in the camping barn at Eskdale with two daughters and four grandchildren. It is a superb facility with virtually all the equipment you could want and plenty of electric points. The camp beds are good too. The site is lovely , and was quiet even though packed and full of families with children. The views are wonderful and the station for the steam train to the coast at Ravenglass is a ten minute walk away. The wardens at the site were extremely helpful and friendly, and the shop is very well stocked. The loo facilities seem new and are very clean. ”
