Ideal for tent campers and handy for Scafell Pike, Wastwater & Eskdale cycle trail.

Our Eskdale Club campsite is nestled in the beautiful Eskdale Valley in the Lake District.

The area is a paradise for walkers and so Eskdale campsite is well equipped for tent campers, backpackers and cycle campers. Motorhomes are also welcome.

Modern heated facilities include a drying room, showers, washing machine and a well-stocked shop. The campsite also has ten camping pods and a camping barn sleeping up to eight if you fancy glamping or want to camp as a group.

Please note this campsite does not allow caravans

Boot is within walking distance of the campsite with dog-friendly pubs and a station for the seven-mile Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, which passes through the Eskdale Valley. Scafell Pike is easily accessed from the campsite, but if that is a little too ambitious more gentle walks take in Stanley Ghyll Falls and Burnmoor Tarn.

For days out go to Muncaster Castle and the World Owl Centre or enjoy the amazing mountain scenery of the Hardknott and Wrynose Pass.

Fully equipped Camping Barn - £140.00 per night
Camping Pods - £44.50 per night

The site is very well maintained and has everything you could possibly need.

The site is very well maintained and has everything you could possibly need. We used it as a base to visit Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass and Coniston. Although they are quite a drive away the scenery more than makes up for being stuck in the car. Highly recommended.

We arrived on the Friday of a busy Bank Holiday weekend and received an exceptionally warm welcome from the franchisees Martyn and Sarah. We had selected the site looking for access to good hillwalking country and tranquility, we were not disappointed. The setting of the site is spectacular, the facilities were excellent, including the well stocked shop offering some local produce. Managed to visit the three pubs that are within walking distance of the site. All offered a good selection of food and drinks within their own individual and varying atmosphere. If only we lived a little closer we would be visiting the site on a regular basis.

Lovely site. Away from it all . No phone signal but free wifi. Thank you. Nice level pitch.

Lovely site. Away from it all . No phone signal but free wifi. Thank you. Nice level pitch. Good pubs within easy distance. did walk to waterfall one day then next day decided to take mapped walk to one of the mountain lakes. Well thought out markers . Only problem was the path disappeared and avoiding waterlogged areas took us in different direction. No problem though could see the road and appeared half a mile away from original destination Only one gripe. Shower block was a little chilly as window above open slightly and that water from one cubicle drained across all as no drain other than "plug" area. Will return as totally away from it all without roughing it

We came to the site for 2 nights in April.

We came to the site for 2 nights in April. The setting is idyllic and well-positioned for fell-walking. We were lucky with the weather - did a 6 hour round hike up Harter Fell with perfect views of the sea and other peaks from the top. When it rained later on back at the site, we noticed that all the higher peaks had received a generous sprinkling of fresh snow, including Harter Fell. The evening light was amazing - a photographer's dream. We hope to return, maybe by train.

“We have just stayed in the camping barn at Eskdale with two daughters and four grandchildren. It is a superb facility with virtually all the equipment you could want and plenty of electric points. The camp beds are good too. The site is lovely , and was quiet even though packed and full of families with children. The views are wonderful and the station for the steam train to the coast at Ravenglass is a ten minute walk away. The wardens at the site were extremely helpful and friendly, and the shop is very well stocked. The loo facilities seem new and are very clean. ”
