Explore the beautiful Peak District National Park from our Bakewell club site.

Please be aware that the B5056 from the A6 Youlgreave will be closed from 8/10/14 to 17/12/14. Please use the A515 Ashbourne/Buxton Road and turn right turn at the church (through the village).

If you’re looking for peace and quiet and wonderful views and enjoy walking and cycling, Bakewell Club campsite is for you. Its idyllic location near the pretty village of Youlgreave in the Peak District National Park offers a true back to nature camping experience. Campers report that the site’s minimum facilities are part of its appeal.

Bakewell campsite enjoys a peaceful, rural setting with stunning views over the Derbyshire countryside. The attractive site is excellently maintained and its 100 pitches are spacious, some benefitting from the shelter of trees which dot the site. There’s also a small dog walk and a children's play area.

Outdoor pursuits in the area around the campsite are not in short supply. Climbing, caving, horse riding and, of course, walking and cycling, are all available. Course fishing only 1/4 mile from site.

Bakewell town is just five miles from the site – try the pudding (not tart) and then visit Haddon Hall and the National Trust’s Ilam Park and on to Dovedale, an iconic and spectacular gorge carved out by the river Dore.

While camping at Bakewell Club Site, take time to witness the ancient custom of Well Dressing – the decorating of wells and springs with pictures made from natural materials. The wells can be seen from May to September.

Please note that this site has no toilet or showers, so you will need suitable facilities in your unit.

Poor access spouled out journey and was a bad start. Timer on gate out by 1 hour and left us struggling in rain to get in a 10p.m. Site OK. Staff friendly but not helpful when we telephone for help when lost at diversion. Lots to do in area. Very windy on site.

We have spent a few occasions here this past year, and each time we have stayed we have been so impressed at how helpful and friendly Joan and Steve have been. We love the location because we never have to use the car,as we enjoy walking we have really enjoyed discovering all the routes leading from the site. We have a toddler who is now getting too heavy to carry, so it is great being able to do relatively easy routes or, our favourite, walking to Bakewell and getting the bus back. It is also close to a number of great trails for cycling too. The site itself is aways immaculate and although there are no toilets or showers, we don't use them at other sites anyway, preferring our own in the caravan. We plan to continue staying on a regular basis for years to come, it is a location that is close enough to go for the weekend and wonderful enough not to become tired of.
