This is a nice site with a modern toilet block and situated in a nice area of countryside with plenty of walks and cycle trails in rhe area. There is a general store and and excellent pub cakled the nags head just up the road at hulland ward. However, I went to use rhe pyblic telephone which is situated on the outer wall of tge reception building vecause I could not get a signal for my mobile. This was at 10pm and just about dark. There were no lights on the building nor at the telephone so that I had problems trying to dial , when I did manage to dial the correct number the money kept dropping throygh the machibe so I dud not nake an impirtant calk. There was no staff member aroubd an no way of knowing how to contact them. What if this had been a medical emergency. On another occasion when I returned to the site I found a car and caravan parked I the middle of the entrance gateway so that I and another motorist could not get in. I Blew my horn just b beep as I could not see any one but no response so I got out of the car and so what I assumed to be the driver in the reception building.I called out to him is this your car you are locking the entrance but he ignored me and a woman called out calm down and wait. I was calm until that point but this attitude from the driver and the lady in reception made me angry and I went into reception and had an argument. All the driver had to do was acknowledge me with a wave and say he would be out in a minute as he had nearly finished or moved the car which he eventually did. The lady in reception needs to show a little politeness and respect l

This site is nice enough and well looked after, however the facilities though clean and presentable would not be sufficient to cope when the camp site is more than half full. The site makes a big thing of solar heating in the toilet block, but the water temperature was barely hot enough for washing dishes and only adequate for showers, for which you need to keep your finger on the button to get a reasonable flow. For those looking to walk to a nearby pub, you are on an A road with no pavement and is therefore dangerous.

This was first time on a club site so didn't know what to expect. We arrived on Friday with motorhome, car and our two dogs Stan and Clive. We were shown to pitch by a very friendly warden who was keen to point out where everthing was- especially the dog walk! (The boys needed it!!) The pitch we were on was very level so there was no need for chocks. We manged to set up before it rained and boy did it rain. (the site drained fantastically!) We didnt use the showers (we used the one in motorhome) but the whole toilet block was very clean. The dogs loved the dog walk around the meadows- they collected all the seeds in their fur! In all the site was lovely, we will return one day. We are going to try some of the other club sites especially now we know how good they can be! Thank you for making our stay so welcoming and enjoyable- we recommend to all!

We could not fault the site for friendliness and cleanliness.

We could not fault the site for friendliness and cleanliness. We were pitched on the top field near the main road, but we hadn't realised what a busy road this was, it was like being in the middle of Brands Hatch!! Far to dangerous to go out on the bike or walk, even to the bus stop. The water was never hot whilst we were there, you couldn't shave or properly wash pots. Ideal site for visiting local tourist area, but really only by car.

“A friendly and peaceful site, the showers and toilets are spotless and Ashbourne is only a 5 min drive away. There is a dog walk and even though it is a short walk its a peaceful walk first thing in the morning listening to the many birds attracted to the site due to the conservation being carried out. We would definitely use this site again for a peaceful short break. One tip don't follow sat nav.”
