    Top site for beaches

Our lovely Club Site on the south Devon coast.

The South Hams offers a wonderful mix of coast, moorland and rolling hills and a range of activities to match from walking and cycling to sailing and surfing. For history lovers there are delights such as Totnes Castle and The South Devon Railway, while a range of arts and food festivals and sailing regattas will keep culture-vultures happy.

Where better to base yourself to enjoy these delights than at our lovely Dartmouth Club campsite. Aptly named as the attractive harbour town is just a five minute drive away, the site offer campers stunning sea views over Start Bay. Spacious pitches, a large camping field and family shower room are among the facilities on offer.

There are beaches aplenty - Blackpool Sands is within walking distance – Slapton Sands, Torcross, Beesand Beach and Hall Sands are a short drive away.

Also easily accessed are Totnes, Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. At the latter cross the River Dart to the pretty village of Kingswear and hop on board the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway for a ride along the Torbay coast. While on this side of the river, Greenway is a magical place to explore. Once the holiday home of Agatha Christie it is now managed by the National Trust.

The staff are excellent and the shop is pretty good (nice to order a paper).

The staff are excellent and the shop is pretty good (nice to order a paper). The entrance is pretty "tired" and not helped by being a shared entrance and by the pub next door having closed down. The site is probably best set up for young families and doesn't have many quiet spaces (save for the overflow field which has no hook-ups. the visit wasn't helped by the weather but the trip in to Dartmouth by bus was very easy and the staff have copies of the bus-timetable (very helpful)

Dartmouth is a very pretty place. There is plenty to see & do. Lots of boat trips & train rides from harbour. If you have children take along crabbing line & bucket as lots of family's enjoying great day out that doesn't cost much. I would recommend Dartmouth as a holiday place for all ages.

The only negative points to this site,in my view is;For the amount of campers at this time of year (August)There is only one toilet/shower block and only one disabled/baby changing toilet/shower room. And if one is camped in the far field,it's quite a trek.Driving out of the site onto the main road can be quite hazardous,as there is a blind spot to your right, but in the sites defense they have erected a mirror on the far side of the road, but this doesn't make it any easier. All in all this is a well run and kept site with all safety regulations strictly adhered to .We had a very pleasant stay, thank you Dartmouth.See you again.
