Our lovely Teign Valley, Barley Meadow Club campsite lies at the northern edge of the Dartmoor National Park in the heart of Devon. Surrounded by moorland landscapes and wooded valleys this campsite is perfect for a relaxing break.

A small site, just 63 pitches, it caters well for all types of camper with good toilet and shower facilities, a children’s play area, games room and shop.

Sit back and admire the views across Dartmoor from your pitch or pull on your walking boots and join the Two Moors Way. This popular long distance trail passes just a few hundred yards from the campsite. For a gentler stroll, pretty Drewsteignton village is a short walk away. Reward yourself with a well-earned pint at the Drewe Arms or continue on to Fingle Bridge, a local beauty spot, or Castle Drogo, England’s newest Castle.

Some of the attractions further afield include, the National Trust run Finch Foundry, the last remaining water-powered forge in England, Canonteign Falls – England’s highest waterfall, Fernworthy Reservoir and Stone Lane Gardens. I can recommend a visit to historic Exeter you a get a bus which stops just outside off th site. Exeter Cathedral is well worth a visit. Also the quays. The scenery around the campsite is very spectacular with many walks close by.

Absolutely beautiful!! Clean, Quiet, Beautiful. Brilliant family washroom, great if you've small peeps. Nice FRiENDLY staff. Thank you. The fact we stayed 1 night less is NOTHING WRONG, just like to pack up at our own pace, so always book extra night, then we can leave when we want to.

This review is for Teign Valley, Barley Meadow

The site is situated on a busy road that has an unrestricted speed limit. We sat in the sun listening to heavy lorries and other traffic thunder past. The dog walking area was so small, and it also combined as the late arrivals park. Though we have a motorhome now, we have had caravans for the last 30 years. I have no idea how a late arrival towing was supposed to negotiate into such a small opening onto such a small area. As the dog area was inappropriate, we had to chance walking him along the main road which was a scary experience. When talking to another dog owner, she had abandoned walking her dog because she was so petrified by the speed the traffic was travelling at. She was thankful that the hot weather helped her to justify to herself that she was better not walking her dog. The changing facilities were basic and reminded me of school toilets. The wifi service was not the service provided through the club but unlike a couple of other similar sites where we have stayed, who also have a different wifi system, we were not allowed to access the wifi because we were not staying for at least 2 nights. We had been down to south Cornwall and needed to split up our journey home. If we had not booked ahead prior to our visit, we would not have been able to access the CCC site. We would not consider returning to this site.
