A family site with seaviews and sandy and shingle beaches within walking distance.

Our Slapton Sands Club campsite has all the ingredients for the perfect family beach holiday. Located on the stunning South Devon Heritage Coast, our Slapton Sands campsite commands a quiet, rural setting. Lined by trees and flanked by rolling countryside, this is the place to sit back and enjoy the views - some pitches enjoy fabulous views over the bay.

The campsite is level and well set out with some hardstandings and plenty of grass pitches. There is a children’s play area, a parent and child room, washing up facilities and a short dog walk and the small on-site shop provides the basics.

Off-site there are plenty of coastal walks to enjoy including to Beesands and Hallsands. Slapton beach is a few minutes’ walk from the campsite. The shingle beach and clean, calm sea are ideal for families (dogs are welcome too) and water sport enthusiasts can enjoy surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

The freshwater lagoon Slapton Ley is separated from the sea by Slapton beach and is set within a National Nature Reserve. The area is teeming with bird and wildlife. There are many walks and trails around the reserve.

To the north of Slapton Sands, the Blue Flag Award-winning Blackpool Sands awaits. Backed byevergreens and scented pines, this stretch of golden sands has a real mediterranean feel.

A bus stop a quarter of a mile from the campsite is on routes to Plymouth, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The latter is a wonderful medieval town with a lovely harbour, perfect for crabbing, and a castle.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Really friendly welcome, a beautifully located and peaceful site overlooking the sea. Very well maintained. Proper local village pub a short stroll away. A great site. Good bus connections if you are walking the coastal path. Heed the advice not to follow your sat nav.

The site is in a wonderful location, on the rolling Devon hills with many pitches having panoramic views of the sea. We enjoyed a two night break early October so the site was about half full hence it was peaceful and plenty of space.Toilet and shower blocks were immaculate and, for the number of people on site,we never had to queue. The wardens are friendly, helpful and hard working, and the site is a credit to them. Whilst the lanes are narrow, there is a footpath down to Slapton Sands and to Torcross. A lovely nature reserve Slapton Ley has several walks varying in length. We had a lovely meander with our dog through the reserve to the pretty village of Slapton, which was quiet with a good food pub The Queens Arms. No doubt at the height of summer the surrounding area becomes very busy, the number of visitors on the beautiful October Sunday morning bore witness to this. However, we greatly enjoyed our weekend, visiting Dartmouth and Brixham where there appears lots to do and visit. Being a retired couple, we will certainly return in the spring and autumn months.

Only one thing struck us as strange about Slapton and that was the fact that there were only eight Caravans allowed, and yet the amount of motorhomes seemed unlimited, and some of those motorhomes were far larger than our caravan.
