A family site with seaviews and sandy and shingle beaches within walking distance.

Our Slapton Sands Club campsite has all the ingredients for the perfect family beach holiday. Located on the stunning South Devon Heritage Coast, our Slapton Sands campsite commands a quiet, rural setting. Lined by trees and flanked by rolling countryside, this is the place to sit back and enjoy the views - some pitches enjoy fabulous views over the bay.

The campsite is level and well set out with some hardstandings and plenty of grass pitches. There is a children’s play area, a parent and child room, washing up facilities and a short dog walk and the small on-site shop provides the basics.

Off-site there are plenty of coastal walks to enjoy including to Beesands and Hallsands. Slapton beach is a few minutes’ walk from the campsite. The shingle beach and clean, calm sea are ideal for families (dogs are welcome too) and water sport enthusiasts can enjoy surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

The freshwater lagoon Slapton Ley is separated from the sea by Slapton beach and is set within a National Nature Reserve. The area is teeming with bird and wildlife. There are many walks and trails around the reserve.

To the north of Slapton Sands, the Blue Flag Award-winning Blackpool Sands awaits. Backed byevergreens and scented pines, this stretch of golden sands has a real mediterranean feel.

A bus stop a quarter of a mile from the campsite is on routes to Plymouth, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The latter is a wonderful medieval town with a lovely harbour, perfect for crabbing, and a castle.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

This is my third visit to Slapton Sands and as ever I found it to be as pleasant as always. There is plenty to do such as visiting Dartmouth or Salcombe or just walking locally such as around the Ley and of course the Coastal Path The site itself is well maintained. the only query I have is with the tent/sheds that have been erected for self catering families. I think they are too big and block the views and do not fit in with the surroundings

We travel on speck ...so don't tend to book or commit to days on end in any one place. So having arrived after checking availability on the day, we waited sometime after ringing the bell for someone to turn up. The fact I didn't want to commit to several nights seemed to be an irritation during the drawn out registration process as payment HAD to be made there and then so paid for one night only. Should we wish to stay another night then we would need to come in and pay again the following day. Now that.... I find irritating, guess you can stay in a top London hotel and settle your bill afterwards but a patch of grass, with gates that lock at 11pm, car reg, e-mail address, home address, telephone number, shoe size....I could understand if they were packed out. Kids would be bored ****less here probably why the average age of couples were in their 60's all in motor homes which spoilt any potential view to be seen anyway.....its the sea for pity sake. Amazing view.... no...some reviews need to get out more. If it hadn't of rained the following morning we would have moved on.. but reluctantly stopped other night. Location to a few good local traditional quirky pubs was the only thing it had going for it. What is it with the Brits and campsite showers that they insist on these 700x700 shower trays? on the floor ..why? your not trying to make an en-suite out of a 12x12 bedroom.. give us some room.. take a leaf from those on the continent.

The weather was probably the worst I've ever gone camping in but it was impossible not to be struck by the stunning location of this site which has one of the most beautiful panoramas of the sea that I know. The shoreline is only a five minute walk down the lane as is the picturesque village of Slapton. Dartmouth and Kingsbridge are within easy distance. The site is sufficiently flat for anybody's needs and the grass stayed good and firm in spite of some torrential rain. All the facilities were maintained in top class manner, the site is a tribute to its wardens.
