Camping near the lovely moors and beaches of North Devon.

Our Umberleigh Club campsite in the Taw Valley is surrounded by rolling hills and meadows and is close to the moors and beaches of north Devon.

This peaceful family-friendly site enjoys a rural location with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Facilities on site include clean, well maintained toilets and showers, a children’s play area, games room with infant's play area, skittles, table tennis table, table football and pool. There is a TV lounge, fishing pool and dog walk. There are also two tennis courts for hire, with free tennis coaching for children during school holidays.

A quarter of a mile from the campsite is the village of Umberleigh. Here you will find an art gallery, an antique shop and a local pub. Umberleigh is also one of the stations on the picturesque Tarka Line which runs between Barnstaple and Exeter.

For clean, sandy beaches and surfing head to Westward Ho, Saunton, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and for family days out there’s the factory outlet Atlantic Village and Atlantis Adventure Park, Bideford, The Milky Way, The Big Sheep and the Quince Honey Farm.

We have visited the Umberleigh site a number of time during the past 10 years - this visit was the best ever. It is so well managed by a very hard working team (they seem to work from dawn to dusk!). We would highly recommend to all - so many enjoyable options to follow.

This is a lovely site, which is easily accessed. I'm not sure how the shower block would cope if the site was full, during our stay the site was half full and the shower facilities coped ok. Various parts of the north Devon coast are easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this site for an mid season stay.

On our arrival the first impression was of a excellent maintained site with plenty of pretty floral displays to cheer after a long journey. Jo and Ron explained where all the facilities were which we found to be immaculately clean. We were asked our preference of pitches and shown before siting the van. Ron and Jo where always so helpful with any queries as was Keith . The site has a massive dog field, no five minute walks on a lead here. Football nets for children, a large games room along with a play area. Shortish drive to coast and lovely walks along tarka trail. For once enjoyed washing up, for when it was time for the teatowel had stunning views over the rolling hills
