Discover Dorset's beautiful beaches & surrounding area from our Moreton campsite.
Dorset’s beautiful beaches, heath and downlands are all accessible from our Moreton Club campsite located in the heart of Wessex and surrounded by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our 120-pitch site is open and spacious with a good range of facilities, including two amenity blocks, a small children’s play area and a dog walk.
Moreton station next to the campsite is on routes to Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth and the bus stop, half a mile from site, will take you to the pretty county town of Dorchester where you can enjoy a number of walking trails including the Thomas Hardy trail and the Roman Town Walk. The town’s Borough Gardens has tennis courts, a bowling green and a children’s play area and hosts a number of events through the summer including live bands and a teddy bear’s picnic.
Head to the sleepy village of Moreton and stop off at the Tearooms, situated in the old school at Moreton for a cream tea. Thomas Edward Lawrence, popularly known as “Lawrence of Arabia” is buried in the church here. A more elaborate memorial can be found at St. Martins church, Wareham.
The village forms part of the “Lawrence of Arabia Walking Trail. The walks take in Bovington, Clouds Hill, Moreton Church and Lawrence’s grave.
Attractions in the area include the Tank Museum at Bovington, Monkey World Ape rescue Centre in Wareham and Lulworth and Corfe Castles. For the best beaches, head to the circularLulworth Cove, Kimmeridge Bay – great for rock pooling and swimming – and the blue flag beach at Swanage.

One ladies shower block out of order and the other block only had two showers and too many toilets. Inconsiderate users keeping others waiting while they showered much longer than necessary. Perhaps if they had to pay for showers they may reduce the time taken.
This site is miles from anywhere worth visiting.
Moreton village is two miles away!
Although there is a bus stop 3/4 mile away it only goes to Dorchester.
Anyone visiting this site will need a vehicle to get anywhere, beaches and local historic sites are not accessible by bus or foot
Won't go back again.

Moreton is a well kept, very quiet site with friendly and helpful staff, however, there is a distinct lack of woman's showers, 2 per toilet block is not enough especially at busy times.A second rubbish disposal point at the top end of the site would also be beneficial. A fish & chip van visits the site between 5-6 pm on a Monday evening and is well worth a visit offering excellent food with great value for money. The site location is perfect for getting to many of the local attractions and the village of Moreton which is only about 1.5 miles from the camp site is well worth a visit as you can visit the award winning Moreton Teas Rooms, discover the grave of T.E. Lawrence located in the village church yard annex while the village church windows are totally unique & well worth viewing, Moreton Gardens are also worth seeing. There are many public footpaths and great walks in the area while the coast is only a short drive away, the Tank Museum is close by as is Monkey World & many other attractions. Eating out in the area offers great local fayre and good value for money.

Site is surprisingly quiet, despite nearby small railway station. Easy driving distance to coast, Weymouth and Dorchester. Lovely walks on coast path within short drive. Good pub just outside camp gate, with good food.
Site team very friendly and helpful, and maintain the site beautifully, both grounds and facilities. Nothing wrong with the toilet blocks, but they now look dated, and we think the staff deserve an upgrade, as they have kept these ageing facilities in such good condition !
This was our 3rd visit, and we would certainly go again.

“Moreton is a real favourite of ours and we have been going there for years.
Moreton is brilliantly run and extremely clean. It has a real community feeling and the grounds are always splendid. Over the years we have recommended many and it too has become their favourite.”
