The sandy beaches of Charmouth make this a popular family site.

Our pretty Charmouth Club campsite is perfectly located for exploring Dorset’s spectacular Jurrasic coast and many popular resorts including Lyme Regis and Beer to the west and West Bay and Weymouth to the east.

Surrounded by rolling hills, this well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches in small clusters bordered by trees and bushes. As well as the expected toilet and shower facilities, the campsite boasts a laundry, a well-stocked shop, children’s play area and dog walk.

If fossil hunting is on your holiday to do list, visit the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre for information. The beach here is a good place to start your hunt for fossils or head east from the campsite to the famous Chesil Beach.

For days out the beautiful Forde Abbey and gardens at Chard is a must. Abbotsbury Swannery is ideal for children or for something different, enjoy the stunning Axe Valley from the Seaton Tramway’s hot pink narrow gauge tram.

We have been to this campsite before and we noticed there were not many pitches for campers.

We have been to this campsite before and we noticed there were not many pitches for campers. We are a caravanner now but we noticed the best pitches are for caravans/motor homes and the tent people are just put in silly places. We were not shown to our pitch upon arrival which we think we should have so that you can ask questions and be helped by the staff. The staff did not wear a uniformed polo shirt so we could not identify them around the site. Very good amenities and very close to Lyme Regis. We advise you book a table at the local pubs as when we tried and this was at the beg of Sept when all holiday makers had left - we found many pubs were already booked.

We booked this 10 night stay grass with hook up month's in advance arrived early after a 6 hour drive and had no problems but when we got to our pitch found it to be on a slope and covered in gravel tried to upgrade but told none available( note to self book a hard standing next time) cannot comment on shower/toilet block as we use our own in caravan the site is a large and well maintained and is only a short drive to Lyme Regis and Charmouth the beach at Charmouth is good for fossil hunting.

After a long journey we were greeted by a stern red t-shirt who explained the site in military fashion with a un-welcoming headteacher tone. Like many other CCC representatives her attitude gave the impresssion that we were a nuisance to her. They should remember that without paying guests they wouldn't have a job! We were then whisked off to the 'Camping Field' which to be honest was very dissapointing and well below the standard I would expect from a club site. The toilets were a temporary unit and something like you would see at Glastonbury. They were dirty and un-kept. The main facilities were OK but a 5 min walk from the Camping Field. I could of paid half the money for this standard elsewhere! The main site and facilities were O.K but avoid the camping field as it was muddy, with poor facilities. Won't be returning to this site - and surprized the club don't point out when booking that during peak demand you could be pitched in the Camping Field.

Just returned from a relaxing 5 day stay at charmouth site, very clean and tidy, with massive pitches..they appear to be midway through toilet shower updates on site. No complaints but would have liked to have seen the continental system of one cubicle for shower, basin and toilet, being adopted for future updates
