    Top site for walking

The Purbeck Hills, award winning beaches and a castle make this a popular family site.

Our Club campsite at Corfe Castle lies at the foot of the Purbeck Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – an area known for its walking and wildlife – and is close to the Blue Flag award-winning Studland and Swanage beaches.

Our family-friendly campsite offers a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches, some of pitches are under trees. There’s an on-site shop with fresh bread and newspapers delivered daily, a family shower room and wet room for disabled visitors.

There are plenty of walking opportunities straight from the site. A leisurely 15-minute walk, for instance, finds you at Corfe Castle, a stunning ruin from the English Civil War whose iconic silhouette can be seen from miles around. The pretty grey stone village of Corfe Castle lies in the shadow of the romantic castle ruins. Around its square is a cluster of tearooms, trinket shops and pubs.

Studland beach – a glorious four mile stretch of golden sand – and Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast are within easy reach.

Please use the downloadable map available here, rather than satnav to ensure you access the site via A351.

Motorhomes must be booked onto hardstandings.

Corfe Castle currently holds an AA 4 Pennant Award.

The staff were friendly when we arrived.

This review is for Corfe Castle

The staff were friendly when we arrived. There is only 1 block of amentities though and it is do-able to get to the toilets in time! It is very peaceful and quiet for the elderly visitors but interspersed with kids laughing in the nearby playground. The road to the site is sometimes harrowing as it is narrow country lane and some road users could drive less faster! The site is a good place to venture out to the coastal places. The weather could be more accommodating...

This was our first time at this campsite so we wasn't sure what to expect. However, we received a friendly and warm welcome. The site was well maintained, with staff out daily cutting grass, trimming hedges etc. The toilet block was always clean, no matter what time of day it was used. I managed to use the shower every morning without having to queue, even though the site was full. There is a nice little play area for children. But if you are camped next to this, as we were, then expect lots of noise and children running past your pitch all day. The site is in an excellent position for day trips where you don't need to use the car. The only downside was that some people on the site continued to be noisy into the early hours, which was frustrating.

Stayed for 7 nights. Wardens friendly and very helpful.

Stayed for 7 nights. Wardens friendly and very helpful. Work ethics excellent 11pm wardens checking site and cleaning toilets etc. Very impressed. Shower blocks small for site but hot water always so that was good. Only thing is closing both male and female showers at 11am for cleaning is inconvenient might look at cleaning one area at a time so relieves the pressure on the one remaining loo in the disabled room. Entrance to site easily passed if not observant and it is up narrow lane but our twin axle was fine so access not difficult alhough no passing places so keep fingers crossed noone coming in opposite direction. Barriered site but overflow car park outside of barrier. Site is nicely kept but do agree about proximity of some tents to caravans but we didnt find it intrusive where we were. Has a friendly atmosphere and is well located however main road into area can be very busy at peak times. Had a lovely week and would return.
