Overview

    Top site for beaches

On Scotland's sunshine coast, to the east of the country's capital, Edinburgh.

Our peaceful Dunbar Club campsite is just a stone’s throw from the popular East Lothian seaside town of the same name and adjacent to Whitesands Bay - a long stretch of sandy surfing beach.

Spectacular landscapes surround the campsite, ensuring wherever you are pitched you have a stunning view. Seaward the impressive views extend over the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock – temporary nesting spot for 150,000 seabirds during peak season.

The campsite is well laid out and spacious with 90 pitches, some of which are hardstands. Modern facilities, including a wetsuit shower are available.

Dunbar, three miles from the campsite, offers shops, places to eat and more beaches. East beach, minutes from the town centre is great for bathing, paddle boarding and sea kayaking.

Inland other attractions include East Links Family Park with animals and a narrow gauge railway; the Museum of Flight at East Fortune and the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick, where you can see puffins, seal pups and dolphins.

Worth Noting

Most pitches have sea views and there is a large picnic area overlooking the coast. There is a large Sunday market/car boot sale every week at East Fortune ten miles from the site.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Belhaven Fruit Farm is four miles from site and Dunbar High Street has an organic greengrocer and a good butcher selling locally reared meat.

Only negative was the wind! Wardens were fantastic.

Only negative was the wind! Wardens were fantastic. Feel campers and we weren't affected as they were should have a common room to retreat to in storm weather. Lovely area and great for East Lothian trail and visiting Edinburgh.

The view out to sea and Dunbar town were gorgeous and the sunsets a real treat. We had a good walf along the coast into town and back, only slightly marred by having to inch our way around the perimeter of the golf course! Another walk in the opposite direction takes in the beaches and the lighthouse, again very enjoyable. Be aware though that part of the 'panoramic views' from the site itself and much of the beach/coastal walks, include a cement works and further along the coast from the lighthouse, a nuclear power station! Didn't spoil our stay, but was a bit of an unwanted addition to our view... just keep looking out to sea though and everything is gorgeous!
