A secluded campsite in rural Essex, near both the coast and the city.
Our pretty Kelvedon Hatch Club campsite in the heart of leafy Essex serves those campers seeking the excitement and attractions of the capital as well as those looking for a relaxing break on the Essex coast.
This 90-pitch campsite is secluded and peaceful and has a really rural feel. All forms of camping is catered for here with a range of facilities including a parent and child room, children’s play area and an excellent dog walk.
The pretty village of Kelvedon Hatch – best known for its once-secret nuclear bunker, now a museum, is close by. Also close is Brentwood, with Mountnessing Windmill – a restored, working post mill – and Old MacDonald’s Farm, a leisure park aimed at children. You can also catch a train from the town to London – buses to the station stop half a mile from site with trains leaving every 10 minutes to the city.
For some beach action, head to Southend. Three Shells, the town’s most central beach, offers easy access to Adventure Island, the Pier and numerous shops, cafes and amusements. Also try the Blue Flag, dog-friendly Canvey Island Beach in the Thames Estuary and the Blue Flag Sandy Shoebury East and Shoeburyness Beaches.
Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we
welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not
permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Just returned from a short stay break at this
very pleasant, friendly and welcoming site.
Local walks, the secret bunker at Kelvedon
Hatch is just up the road, Chipping Ongar is
worth a visit, as is Maldon and Burnham on
Crouch. We much enjoyed our stay,
unfortunately the weather wasn't great,
and we were very impressed by the duty
night warden who came to check on us
in the evening during one of the worst
thunder storms and torrential rain we
have experienced ! Good Man ! Thank
you. The only drawback we experienced,
was that being pitched under the trees,
after 4 days, there was a lot of bird pooh
to clean off the awning roof, which did
take a while !

Nice little camp, only 90 pitches, considering brentwood town is only up the road, the camp looks like your camped in the countryside. no noise but for the birds chirping :), grass is great for pegging down (no stones in grass), facilities are clean and well maintained, fresh water tap and kitchen waste points are ease of access and ease to use, with enough dustbins for rubbish all in the one place. if the camp aint too busy, you can pick your pitch. nice dog walks on site. circle of trees breaks up the wind. staff friendly but job worth hats should be worn lol, cant book in before 1pm, not even 10 minutes earlier, this causes queues of caravans waiting to book in and you have to be off the site by 12pm sharp. if you go out in the car and return around 1pm, you cant drive back into the camp because of the queue of caravans blocking the entrance road, emergency vehicles wouldn't stand a chance getting pass to get to the campers. visitors car park is small, plus a burger stool takes up room in there too. but besides this entrance problems, me and the dogs had a good 4 day stay. I would recommend if wanting a short break.
