With spectacular views over Loch Lomond, this Club campsite is great for relaxing.

The appeal of our Milarrochy Bay Club campsite has to be its location on the east shore of the stunning Loch Lomond in the Loch Lomond and Trossach’s National Park.

This tranquil campsite is popular with walkers, with the West Highland Way footpath right on the doorstep, while Ben Lomond, the highest mountain in the area, is north of the campsite near Rowardennan. Milarrochy Bay campsite will appeal to boaters and canoeists too with a long loch-side frontage with slipways for boat launching.

After a day’s walking or messing around on the water, this campsite is ideal for just sitting back and soaking up the breathtaking views across the Loch. This 150-pitch campsite welcomes all types of campers. Backpackers using the site can make use on the backpacker facility – a bonus in inclement weather.

South of the campsite in Balloch you can enjoy a guided hike from the Loch Lomond Shores Visitor Centre or follow the Sculpture Trail from Loch Lomond Shores. Hop on a water bus from here too and enjoy a wide range of cruises, some calling in at the Loch’s many islands, or hire a kayak, canoe or pedal boat. The amazing Sea Life Centre is here too and Balloch Castle and Country Park.

Learn about the Scottish folk hero Red MacGregor at the Rob Roy and Trossach’s Visitor Centre at Callendar. Rob Roy’s Cave and Bracklinn Falls are here too.

No trip to Scotland should be without a taste of its favourite tipple. East of Balloch at Blairquhosh the Glengoyne Distillery offers whisky tours and tastings.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Boat launching and storage is available on this site. Canoes, kayaks and windsurfs can be launched free of charge. Boats on a trailer will be charged a launching fee. Great place for backpackers to stay.

This review is for Milarrochy Bay

Great place for backpackers to stay. Nice building to cook in, prepare food and eat if weather bad. Had a microwave, chairs and table. Would maybe benefit if it had plug points to charge your phone as many other backpacking sites do. Facilities very clean. Lovely site next to loch.

Good toilet block but limited dish wash facilities. Need more water and waste water points.

This review is for Milarrochy Bay

Good toilet block but limited dish wash facilities. Need more water and waste water points. Due to soft grass and muddy pitches cars park on site roads making driving with a unit difficult. As stated exit route through tree lined road pretty impossible for large units. Excellent walking trails and sailing facilities. Good fishing and power boat facilities.

Simple lakeside site in a lovely location amidst the beautiful hills and lakes of the Trossachs. Lots to do,on land or lake, with the excellent services in the pretty village of Balmaha close by. However, the prime reason for my post is to commend the warden. I witnessed him assisting some new arrivals erect their new awning. They were apparently struggling and he pitched in to assist. You can't get better than that. There is a vicious little hill on a 90 degree bend as you leave Balmaha going towards the site, so beware if towing. But we will certainly be going back.

We received a friendly and warm welcome on arrival after a long journey.

We received a friendly and warm welcome on arrival after a long journey. My husband takes photographs and the warden did his best to give us a super pitch with clear views of the loch. During our stay, the wardens organised a free Easter Egg Hunt for the children with chocolate prizes and the staff kept hiding the eggs again until the children had had enough! Our daughter loved it! I have camped or caravaned for over forty years both in the UK and abroad and if you want a clean, peaceful, well kept site with friendly, knowledgeable staff and stunning views, this is definitely a site you should consider! We will definitely return again!
