    Top site for fishing

On-site fishing available and the Cotswolds within easy driving distance.

You’ll find our pretty Winchcombe Club campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds. Its location near the village of Alderton makes this campsite the perfect base for exploring the area’s pretty honey-colour limestone towns and villages. It’s great walking country too. ¬For starters there’s the Winchcombe way. This 42-mile, figure-of-eight trail runs adjacent to the campsite.

Winchcombe is a charming, quiet little site with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The focal point of the site is its carp pool – attractive not only to fishermen but an abundance of friendly birdlife too. Bag yourself a pool-side pitch and enjoy a prime fishing spot.

The site has excellent toilet and shower facilities, a games room and dog walk. And the site shop stocks a variety of local produce from nearby farms, dairies, butchers and bakers.

The attractive town of Winchcombe is a short drive from the site. It has Walkers are Welcome status and a tempting variety of top restaurants, pubs and tea shops. Further afield Cheltenham with its elegant Regency houses, award-wining gardens and stylish shops is worth visiting.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this campsite.

Although we only stayed 1 night on our way to Dorset Sara enjoyed her stay here as she got to feed young ducks out of her hand, something she's never done before. We were pitched near the caravan storage area which is closer to the road so we did get a bit of road noise although it did die down as the evening went on & we had a good undisturbed sleep. Entrance is off a main road so easy access if towing & plenty of room around the site. RV friendly as there was 1 there. Only thing to watch out for is the duck poo if your pitched nearer to the pond as we were

We first stayed here in June as we wanted a fairly local site for our reintroduction to caravanning after a 15 year absence, and it was so good we went back in early July!! The staff are fantastic....so friendly, welcoming and helpful and the site itself is picture-perfect with the central lake area and the regular 'duck walks' (If you have stayed here, you'll know what we mean!!) This is a genuinely great place for dogs...a lovely dog walk on site and access to two local footpaths directly from site. There is an activity room but the local towns and attractions are many and whatever the weather there is something for everyone in the area. We found Winchcombe itself to be a lovely town and the Steam Railway at Toddington is a great day out. Local pub at Alderton does takeaway food (and ale and cider!!) and gives a 10% discount for those staying on the ccc site and the bar is dog-friendly, a great little find for us. Overall, highly recommended for a peaceful break, especially if you have a four legged friend or just like a good walk. In summary, for us it was like staying in the back garden of a good friend and we can't wait to retun again.
