    Top site for fishing

On-site fishing available and the Cotswolds within easy driving distance.

You’ll find our pretty Winchcombe Club campsite in the heart of the Cotswolds. Its location near the village of Alderton makes this campsite the perfect base for exploring the area’s pretty honey-colour limestone towns and villages. It’s great walking country too. ¬For starters there’s the Winchcombe way. This 42-mile, figure-of-eight trail runs adjacent to the campsite.

Winchcombe is a charming, quiet little site with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The focal point of the site is its carp pool – attractive not only to fishermen but an abundance of friendly birdlife too. Bag yourself a pool-side pitch and enjoy a prime fishing spot.

The site has excellent toilet and shower facilities, a games room and dog walk. And the site shop stocks a variety of local produce from nearby farms, dairies, butchers and bakers. There’s even a fish and chip van that drops in a couple of times a week.

The attractive town of Winchcombe is a short drive from the site. It has Walkers are Welcome status and a tempting variety of top restaurants, pubs and tea shops. Further afield Cheltenham with its elegant Regency houses, award-wining gardens and stylish shops is worth visiting.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this campsite.

We stayed over Aug Bank Holiday. Site was peaceful quiet and very relaxing. Facilities where spotless and first class. Site was very well presented and a pleasure to be on, site wardens couldn't have been more helpful. A great find and I'll be back. Just so pretty and good. Please be aware although there are play areas and things for children it is not a bucket and spade site more geared up for older clientel (which I fall in to) I did see large family groups who all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I have always been wary of "large" sites but Winchcombe absolutely changed my mind....

I have always been wary of "large" sites but Winchcombe absolutely changed my mind....these guys run an excellent site and are really helpful. The pub in Alderton is great - decent beer and good grub. the cycling around can be relaxed or as tough as you want. Broadway is 15 mins by car and Gordon Russel Museum recommended. The Ashmolean is overpriced and almost empty- surely they can lay their hands on more stuff from Oxford ???? Would thoroughly recommend the Winchcombe site and would certainly visit again

A very nice site that we would recommend and will visit again.

A very nice site that we would recommend and will visit again. Recreation room with games and the playground helped keep the children occupied. Reception has ice lollies for sale along with a range of essentials. Newspapers can be ordered and a fish & chip van visited twice a week. Site in easy reach of Tewkesbury and Cheltenham, also selection of villages and local attractions to visit. A pretty site. The ducks wander the site but were not a nuisance.
