Enjoy the tranquillity of the Snowdonia National Park from this peaceful rural site.

Our Bala Club campsite boasts an idyllic rural location just outside the eastern boundary of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and six miles north of the lake after which it is named. Surrounded by amazing scenery, Bala campsite is the ideal base for exploring the attractions of north Wales.

The pretty and secluded 50 pitch site is level and well maintained with a good range of facilities including toilets, showers, laundry, a small children’s play area and a small dog walk. A short drive away, the town of Bala offer a variety of shops, a petrol station and places to eat. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing are all possible on Bala Lake and there are good walks and cycle routes from here too. Bala Lake Railway and the Ffestiniog Railways are great ways to take in the local scenery.

Less than an hour’s drive from Bala campsite is Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. Scale its heights on foot or catch the train to the summit.

Local resorts with good sandy beaches include Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Harlech, Barmouth Fairbourne and Aberdovey.

Had no problems with the site, I really want to comment on the points raised in the few negative reviews. Firstly, there has always been a 'no balls ' rule. Footballs etc can do a lot of damage on site. In the past I have witnessed a football hitting the side of a tent where a young man was cooking- his stove was knocked over and almost set light to his tent, we had to cover him in wet towels because the hot food scalded him. Also a lady hit in the face by a frisbee, breaking her glasses. I have had a door mirror on my car smashed. Nothing for kids to do??? I camped with my 4, no probs. Buy a Swingball, keeps them amused for hours. Go for walks, tires them out and educates them about the countryside. Site Dog Walks - correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought these were for "quickies" if your dog needs to go urgently (or the 'just before bed' outy) . If you have a large dog you should be taking it for a longer walk anyway. Rant over, looking forward to staying here next summer.

Spent 2 nights at end Sept and were lucky with the weather. It was so very peaceful here and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. About a 3-5 mile drive to the lake and town of Bala. Had a wonderful, relaxing weekend and will be back. But, remember to take a torch - it is pitch black at night as there is no lighting around the site.
