Enjoy the tranquillity of the Snowdonia National Park from this peaceful rural site.

Our Bala Club campsite boasts an idyllic rural location just outside the eastern boundary of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and six miles north of the lake after which it is named. Surrounded by amazing scenery, Bala campsite is the ideal base for exploring the attractions of north Wales.

The pretty and secluded 50 pitch site is level and well maintained with a good range of facilities including toilets, showers, laundry, a small children’s play area and a small dog walk. A short drive away, the town of Bala offer a variety of shops, a petrol station and places to eat. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing are all possible on Bala Lake and there are good walks and cycle routes from here too. Bala Lake Railway and the Ffestiniog Railways are great ways to take in the local scenery.

Less than an hour’s drive from Bala campsite is Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. Scale its heights on foot or catch the train to the summit.

Local resorts with good sandy beaches include Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, Harlech, Barmouth Fairbourne and Aberdovey.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

This site was a pleasant surprise in that not only was it located in a beautifull part of Wales but also thanks to the efforts of the Wardens Tina & Graham it was a paradise for "birdwatchers" such as ourselves. Graham had intalled numerous bird boxes around the site which had become home to not one but two Pied Flycatchers. Others contained Nuthatch & many Blue Tits. Listening to the cuckoo in the morning, having our breakfast outside and seeing Dippers on the stream beside us was a little paradise. This couple had put a special stamp on this site with there friendliness sense of ownership & through encouraging wild and propagated plants. We will certainly go again.

From the moment we arrived on site we knew it was perfect for getting away from it all. It was so relaxing and tranquil. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were immaculate. We didn't want to come home. We'll definitely be going back there.

Whilst the site itself is good, it is at some distance from Bala Lake.

Whilst the site itself is good, it is at some distance from Bala Lake. We were there to do some walking but were hampered by the inconsistency and incompleteness of the footpath network. The A494 is not a good road to walk on and there are very limited ways of getting down to Bala on foot, or to other communities. Could The Friendly Club work with the County Council to improve this?
