I have been coming here for more than 40 years, first as a child with my parents and now with my own family. I still love it, the location is great and Beddgelert is timeless. I remember walking along the disused railway line as a kid and today it has a fully restored steam line - fantastic. Unfortunately, in all that time little has been done to maintain the facilities and they are now looking really quite tired. It's expensive too and given it's cost & popularity they really should be spending some of this revenue on facility upgrades. Don't get me wrong, the facilities work (albeit one morning's cold shower was a bit of a shock), but given how much we paid they don't measure up to other C&CC sites anymore. This is a shame because I still love it and probably always will, but put some funds back in please and help it get back to the top of my list.

Have just spent may day bank holiday here and loved every minute of it had 2 days of sun and 2 days of rain. Staff friendly and helpful. I think you need to remember that this is camping in the forest (with toilets, showers and electric hook-ups) and nature doesn't do things in straight lines so if you want perfectly square spaced pitches that are dead flat with perfectly manicured grass then this might not be for you. This is Wales so there is a good chance youre gonna get a bit of rain at some point so go prepared and it wont spoil your holiday. No major super market nearby so take plenty of beer, wine and if needed, food, with you. we stocked up at a supermarket in Caenarfon which was about 20 mins away There are some great walks around the site and the scenery is stunning. Steam train stops at the site and this is well worth a ride on as it travels through some fantastic country side. we are on O2 and had no phone signal for 4 days (bliss) no internet no tv signal, although we took our satellite dish so we got tv on this, however we spoke to some people who could not get satellite, just pot luck. There is a fast flowing stream that runs right next to the site and the sound of the water cascading over the rocks and the wind blowing through the trees is hypnotic Will definitely go back, and would highly recommend this site if you are a real outdoor type of person. I think in the summer you will defiantly need your insect repellant and citronella candles.

This campsite could be amazing. Its location is stunning with walks right from the site.

This review is for Beddgelert - Snowdonia

This campsite could be amazing. Its location is stunning with walks right from the site. The negatives are: the whole site needs a revamp, the road ways are potholed, and narrow, the pitches not well sign posted and in need of attention, The facilities, whilst lovely and clean, need upgrading, On arrival, driving around the site the smaller pitches were a bit of a squeeze between the trees, so we opted to pay for one of their extra large premium pitches, we expected to pay around 5.00/7.00 extra per night, not the 12.50 per night charged. We thought it was excessive. It is a real shame not more care and attention is given to the campsite. It looks very natural but this could be maintained with careful planning. The caravan and camping club are letting their reputation slip with this site. As commented this campsite could be amazing, it should be amazing. We enjoyed our short break and love this area of Wales. Walks are plentiful and the campsite sell a very good guide of walks, which is well worth investing in. Beddgelert is very pretty and the backdrop of the Snowdonia makes it even more picturesque. Their is a wide range of activities to do in the area making this an ideal place for families of all ages.
