Second time of visit, staff very helpful and pleasant, Journey to site OK until about three miles out and then roads became twisty and narrow (would suggest come in via Caernarfon). Site not particularly level and tracks to pitches do have potholes. Overall we would visit again

When we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful, and showed us a map of site and where we could pitch our caravan. It was the August Bank Holiday Weekend, so the campsite was busy and there were not many pitches left. You are not allocated a pitch or able to reserve one and we felt it would be a vast improvement if you could, especially as we were in a group and could not pitch together. The pitch we ended up with was on a slope, and could only just accommodate our caravan and awning. There was no room to sit outside. The pitches are also quite close together and when the site is full, it felt overcrowded. Overall I would stay at this site again, as it has lovely views and the Welsh Highland Railway Steam Trains stop at the site. I would however, definitely book a superior pitch, with a picnic table and not stay on one of the busiest weekends of the year. One last critic, the shop was not very well stocked and the addition of locally sourced bacon and sausages would be very welcome. Though the bakery is excellent and I can thoroughly recommend chocolate croissants.

We had a fantastic time at Beddgelert and will be retuning next year. We were towing a 4.7m caravan with a large estate and although experienced found the roads into Bedgellert quite tricky as they are walled and narrow in places. Our advice is arrive very early or late and park up close to the campsite until open. Once you get there you will quickly see it is really part of the forest. Some of the roads on the site are potholed so you ned to be careful especially when towing. The pitches are of good size and far enough apart to allow privacy should you want it. For the hardstanding pitches you will need rock pegs as the surfaces are slate and stone chippings of various sizes. We took an extra thick polythene ground sheet which protected the awning carpet. The showers and toilet facilities are good, and the laundry and drying lockers excellent. The team at the site are really friendly and helpful - they gave great advice and have excellent local knowledge. Beddgellert village is nearby and beautiful. Lots of places to eat and drink all very friendly. Snowdonia is breathtaking!

Very disappointed with this site. I arrived to a friendly enough welcome in the pouring rain.

Very disappointed with this site. I arrived to a friendly enough welcome in the pouring rain. I was told to go a pick a pitch but was given little guidance as to what constituted a Select Pitch. This made it awkward as all the pitches looked the same (a big pile of slate scraps patted down!) Site was very muddy and access roads dreadful. The club really need to invest in this one. I decided not to stay for the 4 nights I had booked and paid for as it was totally unsuitable and not as I had anticipated - and of course got no refund - even thought the site wasn't that busy. Sorry but won't be back!
