My partner and i have been to longbeech 4 times now and we absolutly love it its so peaceful and beautiful i never get tired of it . please dont listen to the first review requesting a shop, thats not what this campsite is about, the fact that it is so quiet and theres nothing there just adds to the peace and tranquility of longbeech. There are plenty of campsites with ammenities if thats what you want. Please Please leave longbeech just as it is.

Stayed with friends for four days in August in their caravan on Longbeech. I have to say this was my first time there and what a stunning place, beech, oak and holly trees, grass and hard standing, cdp's and taps, a nature lovers dream.
Booking in at Ocknell over a mile away made me wonder why Forest Holidays can't negotiate with their partners to have nothing more than a simple office on Longbeech with battery charging facilities (to negate the use of generators) ice block rental, map, milk and bread sales albeit not enough to affect the local trades people also ticketing for visitors and late stay payments. At the time we were there the warden Gerry was doing a fantastic job under impossible circumstances, working up to sixteen hours per day and required to be in two or three places at any time. C&CC! If Longbeech can't be run in a proficient manner then close the site! Drastic perhaps but the administration at the time was silly.
In my professional life I visit around 1500 sites annualy in France and Germany, Longbeech could be one of the best, moderate access from the M27, lots of easy walking from the site, war time history of the Stoney Cross airfield in abundance from the very knowledgeable manager Mark at Ocknell. Many of the attractions of the New Forest fall within a ten mile radius of Longbeech including the wonderful Rhinefield Arboretum and Bolderwood deer park. Even a visit to Highcliff beach avoiding crowded roads, with pub lunch (map by Gerry) excellent.

Our first stay at a club site & we were very impressed with everything. The site is spectacular, set amid mature trees with level, horse mown grass areas. It is sheltered, with the choice of shaded pitches or sunny. Ponies & deer are frequent visitors. The site is surrounded by un-restricted walks, either in woods or open heath. A public house serving food is a short walk away through the trees. Mike, the warden is friendly & very helpful without being obtrusive. All 100%. Thanks Mike...
