We have just returned from 3 nite stay at Ocknell Site and wish we could have stayed...

We have just returned from 3 nite stay at Ocknell Site and wish we could have stayed longer!!!! The site is basic, toilets and sinks only, very clean! but website tells you that, so you go prepared. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The site itself is wonderful, lovely areas for caravans and campervans only! Really nice tenting areas too, nice secluded areas if you want privacy. This site uses the 6m between units rule so you don't have other campers on your doorstep as is so often the case on other sites!!! So much wildlife around, horses round our campervan, cows wandering around, deer and donkeys. We went walking on the heathland yesterday and even came across a group of 5 stags!! This site is a walkers paradise! Lots of room for kids to play or ride their bikes. The ground is quite uneven in places so you may need chocks for some pitches, but only to be expected isn't it for a forest site. We couldn't fault this site in any way and can't wait to go back next year!!!!

We can't wait to go back to this site.

This review is for Ocknell - New Forest

We can't wait to go back to this site. We stayed her for the Boat Show in Southampton and ended up staying an extra night because we loved the location so much. The facilities are basic but that is not an issue if you prepare - we brought a utility tent with shower setup which worked fine for us. We didn't bring rock pegs which was a big mistake!! A must have for this site and we have since bought some! We are already planning our return with friends that are new to camping as soon as this site opens in 2014. An immaculate site in amazing surroundings - this site is a must!

A great site, very friendly and helpful staff, located on former aircraft dispersal hardstandings. Great for walking the dog, lots of new forest ponies (day) and deer (at night). All in all, a nice place to stopover.
