Top site for dogs
A spacious, quiet campsite by the county town of Hertford that you can enjoy all year round.
Our Hertford Club campsite is on the outskirts of the attractive market town of the same name and surrounded by rolling countryside.
This campsite, although large is spacious with some 250 pitches, offers many quiet and secluded pitches and there are lots of separate areas to choose from. The site is well laid out with well- maintained facilities including washing machine and dryers, inside dish washing area, an outdoor play area and dog walk.
There is a separate tent area with a facility block close at hand. The whole site is plentifully supplied with trees, hedges and shrubs and there is an attractive lake too.
It’s an easy walk into Hertford with its town square and River Lea towpath walk. And Balls Park close by is excellent for dog-walks.
The Cole Green Way, part of the National Cycle Network, is about 1.5 miles from the campsite, starting at Hertford Football Club it follows a former railway to Welwyn Garden City. There are more recreational options at Hartham Common, just a few minutes’ walk from the town centre.
For days out there’s Paradise Wildlife Park, Knebworth House and Waltham Abbey or you can take a train to London from Hertford East which is a 20-minute walk from the campsite.
Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Visited with my husband for 2 nights, we arrived at the site just before noon apologised for being early and said we didn't mind waiting for our pitch, but we were told we could have our pitch straight away.
We stayed on hardstanding because some sites leave cut grass everywhere but no worries on this site the lawns were fantastic, pitches are lovely and spacious, plenty of room for awnings and table and chairs and parking.
Plenty of dog bins around the site and some lovely walks.
Toilets and showers were kept clean and plenty of hot powerful water in the showers.
Nice touch having a snack wagon on site serving burgers and hotdogs and drinks. Gentleman who run it was very friendly with his little pug dog.
Lovely little play area for children.
We were drawn a map showing us how to get to the town and a local river were the dogs could play.
Close to the town and easily walking distance.
Would def go back

Excellent site within walking distance of Hertford town centre with dog friendly pubs. The site is next to a huge field where you can exercise your dog off the lead. On arrival at the site we were taken to our pitch by very friendly warden who gave us lots of choices where to pitch nothing was to much trouble. The site is huge with two clean and maintained toilet blocks. This is our second visit and won't be our last.

Plenty to do around the area(particularly if you are cyclists) We had very nice weather, which is always a bonus, so were able to cycle to our hearts content. Would certainly visit again as its close to London with good, easy links.

We have been trying a variety of sites - seeing what we really like - this was not a site for us.
A large site - busy.
The pitches were a good size - well sheltered - the planting has created a number of sections - good system for groups.
The facilities were good but the lack of care taken by individuals meant that they did not stay clean for long - not sure what the solution is - perhaps the site could provide cleaning cloths so that people can clean the wash basins/showers before use.
