Overview

This campsite is just to the north of England's capital in the home county of Hertfordshire, with the bright lights of London in easy reach.

The secluded, woodland setting of our Theobalds Park Club campsite belies its location just inside London’s orbital M25 motorway. Although just off the M25 the campsite is in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. The nearby Lee Valley Park will appeal to nature lovers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen. While further west woodland, grassland, heath, rivers and ponds make up the vast expanse of Epping Forest, the largest public open space in the London area.

This well laid out, level campsite offers open camping areas and a choice of grass and hard stand pitches. Modern facilities, a children’s play area and dog walk service the needs of all types of camper.

At just 15 miles from the capital this campsite is an excellent base from which to explore London. Catch a train from Waltham Cross to enjoy the city’s fantastic shopping, varied eateries and bars and landmarks such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Olympic Park and more

Very easy access to London. Lee Valley and Waltham Abbey.

This review is for Theobalds Park

Very easy access to London. Lee Valley and Waltham Abbey. We visited the Abbey for an afternoon. The pubs are worth a visit serving EXCELLENT food at the king and Tinker. This site is a great place for a short break or longer if you don't have children who need loads of entertainment on site although the play area looked good.

Mixed impression. Some staff were brilliant/had a great attitude and couldn't do more.

Mixed impression. Some staff were brilliant/had a great attitude and couldn't do more. Others had a less helpful attitude. The site is definitely not level as is claimed. There was a foul smell emanating from the soakaway at the fresh water supply at the bottom of the site. The M25 noise is quite intrusive especially during busy periods. There's only one toilet block which is quite a walk uphill when emptying heavy waste water. There were regular loud bangs from a neighbouring field during the nights we stayed there. The post code/Sat Nav took us to a neighbouring hotel which has very long narrow twisty driveway- apparently it has the same post code as the site but we weren't warned. Nice mature trees and a pleasant aspect. Convenient for London (we caught the train from Turkey Street).
