    Top site for beaches

Beautifully located between the beaches of the Moray Firth and the hills.

Our Rosemarkie Club campsite on Scotland’s Black Isle sits right on the edge of a half-moon bay, flanked by hills and woodland on one side and the stunning Moray Firth on the other. If it’s dolphins you’ve come to see, you won’t have to look too far. The lighthouse, just a short walk from the site is the ideal place.

Campers will enjoy superb views over the Moray Firth to Fort George from many of the pitches here and a walk along the sand from the site brings you to the Faerie Glen. Rosemarkie village is famous for its Pictish stones housed in the Groam House Museum. There’s a pleasant beach extending all the way to Chanonry Point and a community-run beach café.

Fortrose boasts a ruined cathedral and several restaurants and tearooms. Hidden from most of the town and only reachable by narrow, twisting roads, is a very pretty harbour offering many leisure pursuits and a peaceful and secluded beach.

The more lively Inverness is close by. Sitting on the banks of the River Ness, the town is dominated by a pink crenelated castle. The towns offer many places of interest to visit as well as shops, eating places and a Victorian market.

Nature lovers can take a boat from Avoch Harbour or Cromarty to see dolphins. Or visit Munlochy Bay to spot wading birds, ducks and migratory birds, or feed ducks, geese and swans at Black Isle Wildlife and Country Park.

Lovely sea views and walks a couple of things were a niggle....the lock on female facilities is perfect if the door is closed ...everytime I went the door was open so not locked. The door is on the public road side meaning anyone could use these facilities which can be intimidating. The public road runs through the site and to be quite honest most cars using it were speeding a worry if you have small children or dogs...as dog walk on other side of road. Overall a nice site with basic facilities worth a visit.....

The location of this site is its only selling point, as the facilities are very out dated and insufficient for the number of visitors. Rigs are only allowed on after 1pm, pitches are pre allocated (why?), only three toilets and two showers in the main ladies' toilet block, shop open only two hours a day and selling little other than ice cream and chocolate, no motorhome service point so all waster water has to be emptied manually to a central disposal point. AND it's over thirty pounds a night for two people in the summer.... Forty if not members. I expected a lot better for the money.

We have been motorhoming for nearly 10 years now and this is our favourite site! The welcome we received when we arrived after a very long journey was superb. The pitches are reasonably flat the facilities are kept exceptionally clean and the dog walk is brilliant. If that's not enough the beach, which is just 4 metres from the van is a delight to walk along - oh and don't forget the dolphins!! You can watch them from the beach just a short walk from the site - wonderful!! We can't wait to return.

the location of the site is excellent just a short walk into Rosemarkie and with a golf course next door and a restaurant near by. We were able to walk to Chanonry Point to see the Dolphins. The wardens were very welcoming and helpful and the site was immaculate. The only let down was the one shower in the block which was totally inadequate for the amount of people staying on site. Facilities need to be upgraded.
