    Top site for fishing

Loch Ness Shores are looking forward to welcoming you.

Scotland’s most famous loch is the stunning backdrop for the Club’s new campsite in the Scottish Highlands. The aptly-named Loch Ness Shores Club campsite is located on the quieter south shore near the village of Foyers.

This 99 pitch, all-year-round campsite enjoys panoramic views around Loch Ness to the mountains beyond and is the perfect base for exploring the area’s historic sites like the magnificent Urquhart Castle, the charming towns and villages of Fort Augustus, Cannich and Drumnadrochit, or for getting active whether it be on foot, bike or boat.

The site itself has excellent eco credentials, including using innovative green technologies to heat and light the top notch facilities which include an amenity block with under floor heating and home from home shower rooms, an on-site shop and wi-fi. Boats (suitable for fishing) and canoes are available to hire on site.

Due to local planning restrictions please note that the arrival time for this site is after 2pm.

Worth Noting

The site is one of a few places around Loch Ness where shoreline access provides access to launch small boats. Activities on site (archery, den building, wildlife walks). Electric bikes, kayaks, and fishing boats with permits are available for hire.

Access and SatNav Advice

All arrivals after 2pm. Do not use a satnavs to access this site. Loch Ness Shores is on the south-east side of Loch Ness. Bear right in Dores on to B852 to Foyers. Approximately 2 miles after you pass through Inverfarigaig, you will see a white building on the right hand side (which used to be a hotel), turn right 100m further on behind the No Entry sign, which is signed for Lower Foyers and follow the CCC signs to the campsite.

The plus points: a very well run site, with helpful staff and a nice shop.

This review is for Loch Ness Shores

The plus points: a very well run site, with helpful staff and a nice shop. There are activities that can be booked and a cafe. The toilets and showers are modern, very well maintained and cleaned. The minus points: Very big, very impersonal The Loch is only accessible at a small beach area, there are no walks along the Loch side or even views of it as the site is up a hill, hidden by trees. The site is situated on the unpopulated side of the Loch, so to visit any attraction or get anywhere involves an hour long drive each way. The play area is not central, was full of bored children and was not a friendly or welcoming place especially for little ones. There are much better sites to visit, for views, atmosphere and accessibility.

What a joy this site is, fantastic staff and first class modern facilities. Add the location which is superb and the fact that there is a pub restaurant with excellent menus just a 10 minute walk away. The staff were fantastic offering advice on the local area and always on hand if you needed anything. Brilliant time and will be going again only for a much longer break next time.

Beatutiful area all around the site for exploring with plenty of walking footpaths to explore. Ideal for dog lovers. Although not far from many "must see" tourist attractions, the area along the South of Loch Ness is stunningly beautiful and peaceful. There is boat hire from the campsite itself to explore the shores from a canoe. The morning breakfast caravan was a bonus with a delicious menu. This is a very friendly and clean site with helpful staff. Only one very slight negative comment was that the shower water in the "gents" was not as hot as the ladies. Unlucky for them! The ladies was nice and hot.

The route to the site is fairly narrow but by arriving and leaving at the times advised we had no problem with our caravan (7m). There is a good play area for children and the lake shore is adjacent to site. Good walks from the site and Inverness, Fort Augustus and Caledonian canal in easy reach. Probably the best toilet block we have ever experienced.
