Scotland’s most famous loch is the stunning backdrop for the Club’s new campsite in the Scottish Highlands. The aptly-named Loch Ness Shores Club campsite is located on the quieter south shore near the village of Foyers.

This 99 pitch, all-year-round campsite enjoys panoramic views around Loch Ness to the mountains beyond and is the perfect base for exploring the area’s historic sites like the magnificent Urquhart Castle, the charming towns and villages of Fort Augustus, Cannich and Drumnadrochit, or for getting active whether it be on foot, bike or boat.

The site itself has excellent eco credentials, including using innovative green technologies to heat and light the top notch facilities which include an amenity block with under floor heating and home from home shower rooms, an on-site shop and wi-fi. Boats (suitable for fishing) and canoes are available to hire on site.

Loch Ness Shores also offers the opportunity to go glamping in one of its five luxury wooden wigwam cabins, all boasting comfy caravan-style beds. Lyn advised on the great range of local walks, which were well marked and easy to follow. Nearby RSPB reserve at Loch Ruthven well worth a visit, also bird life on and around the site and surrounding area also very impressive. Local roads quiet so cycling was enjoyable, and plenty of off road options nearby. Great breakfasts at Waterfall cafe, good grub and spectacular views from the pub up the hill. The local waterfalls are a must see. A big thank you to Donald and Lyn who are a mine of information and passionate about the site and area, which really shows.

We booked last minute over the phone.

We booked last minute over the phone. Hadn't planned on going anywhere until about an hour before we booked and were going up with friends who stayed nearby. We got there quite late but were greeted at the gate. Slight confusion with the booking but it was sorted and we were shown to our pitch. It was a bit far away from the toilet block but right next to the children's play area, which was great for us as we had four with us aged from 3 to 12yrs. Gorgeous dog walk next to the loch. The showers and toilets were pristine. Hot water for the dishes, the shower was lovely too, great facilities. Our first stay at this site and we will be going back soon!

Whole site is very modern, new and clean.

Whole site is very modern, new and clean. Staff really helpful, good walks straight from site visiting some dramatic waterfalls amongst the woods. The road to get to it is not that far from Inverness and is single track with passing and picnic places with access to the Loch beach areas (stones not sand).dog friendly too with the short walk through the hamlet next door or track along the loch both available.

Site access is very poor, single track roads with lots of hills and blind summits, although there are plenty of passing places. Checking in was poor, had to wait for the owner who was on the phone, and they had problems with their card machine. Got to choose where we wanted to pitch up. Nearest pub was a 10 min walk, the shop half an hour walk. The shop on site was very poor stocked, not even milk was available. Absolutely nothing to do or see on site. A few walks, one to foyers falls is recommended. This site is not for us so won't be going back.
