Our Club Site on the beautiful Isle of Skye

Head to Loch Greshornish on the beautiful Isle of Skye and you’ll find our Skye Club campsite. It boasts an idyllic location right on the loch shore where campers enjoy stunning views over the water to the hills beyond.

The campsite is on a working croft. Magnificent Highland cattle and sheep graze close by and you can buy fresh laid duck and hen eggs at the site shop along with most essentials. There are hardstandings for caravanners and motorhomers with plenty of these pitches enjoying the views. You can go glamping at Skye campsite too. Two camping pods provide cosy accommodation for those who perhaps fancy leaving their own units at home.

A visit to Dunvegan Castle on the Isle’s west coast is a must. It sits on a rocky outcrop betwixt sea and manicured gardens. Seal spotting boat trips operate from the castle jetty. Not far from the castle Caligan Coral beach is a fantastic place to spend the day. Portree is the main town on Skye, set round a harbour you’ll find the Aros Centre. As well as theatre, films and concerts it’s here you’ll find out more about the Isle through a series of exhibitions.

To catch a glimpse of the sea eagles catch a boat from the harbour.

Planned to visit here for a while but the stupid rule that requires you to stay a minimum of two nights had prevented us. We finally made it and weren't disappointed. The wardens couldn't be more helpful even booking our taxis and letting us know when they would arrive and opened the shop for us outwith the advertised hours. Toilets & showers are warm, clean and well kept. The mile long dog walk loch side is a real bonus. There is a poo bin despite a previous comment denying this. Yes it can be muddy but its Scotland and we do get rain you know! Great welcome, fab location, level hard-standing pitches and more than adequate toilet block. Just wish the shower didn't keep switching itself off!

Every time we have visited we have always had a warm friendly welcome from Nicky & David, and more recently Adrian & Linda. (The dogs love their treats on arrival too!!). The staff work hard to maintain the site which is immaculate in all respects and even although they are very busy maintaining the grounds and amenities to an excellent standard they are always friendly and will find time to stop and chat and give helpful advice when needed. The site is well located for exploring all parts of the Island and not too far from the main town of Portree. The scenery throughout Skye is spectacular and there are lovely walks of varying degrees to suit all abilities. If you would prefer to relax this site is also ideal in its secluded setting beside Loch Greshornish where you can enjoy the peace & tranquility, allowing time for reflection. We would definitely recommend visiting this site as it is situated in a beautiful setting, the amenities are top class and the staff are lovely. We love this site. Can't wait to return again next year.
