Our Club Site on the beautiful Isle of Skye

Head to Loch Greshornish on the beautiful Isle of Skye and you’ll find our Skye Club campsite. It boasts an idyllic location right on the loch shore where campers enjoy stunning views over the water to the hills beyond.

The campsite is on a working croft. Magnificent Highland cattle and sheep graze close by and you can buy fresh laid duck and hen eggs at the site shop along with most essentials. Tent campers are pitched in their own camping field and there are hardstandings for caravanners and motorhomers with plenty of these pitches enjoying the views. You can go glamping at Skye campsite too. Two camping pods provide cosy accommodation for those who perhaps fancy leaving their own units at home.

A visit to Dunvegan Castle on the Isle’s west coast is a must. It sits on a rocky outcrop betwixt sea and manicured gardens. Seal spotting boat trips operate from the castle jetty. Not far from the castle Caligan Coral beach is a fantastic place to spend the day. Portree is the main town on Skye, set round a harbour you’ll find the Asos Centre. As well as theatre, films and concerts it’s here you’ll find out more about the Isle through a series of exhibitions.

To catch a glimpse of the sea eagles catch a boat from the harbour.

Our 3rd visit having previously visited in September and early May when the site was only part full. This visit it seemed to be at max capacity but was just as peaceful as ever, due to the layout and possibly the type of visitor. It was nice to see a high proportion of visitors were from other EU countries. We'd a warm welcome from Hazel (part time asst warden) as Nicky and David were having their lunch break though we did have a few chats with them in the office/shop later. Shower/loos were as ever, spotless and never over subscribed. And the whole site was immaculate and a lovely place to spend a week. Thank you all concerned!
