Camping on the Isle of Wight – perfect for relaxing on this tiny island, just a short ferry trip from the England’s south coast.

You’ll find our Adgestone Club campsite in a quiet countryside setting on the beautiful Isle of Wight close to the popular Sandown resort.

Although a large site – 270 pitches – the site is very well laid out with some secluded pitches and is orientated towards families. Adgestone is the only Club Site with a swimming pool (which will be open and heated from June 1st until the first week in September) and a children’s paddling pool. In addition to the usual toilet/shower facilities, the site also boasts two children’s play areas – one for younger campers and another more extensive area for older children as well as table tennis, boules, outdoor chess and giant jenga. There’s also a shop and takeaway on site and a private fishing pool stocked with carp.

There numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the campsite. Beach lovers are spoilt for choice with the seaside resorts of Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Cowes and Ryde all close by. For days out Dinosaur Isle, Shanklin Chine, the Needles and Blackgang Chine shouldn’t be missed.

Adgestone Vineyard, overlooking Brading Down – itself worth exploring for its spectacular views across Culver Down and Sandown Bay - offers tours of its wine cellars and tastings. Its café serves excellent cream teas too.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

On arrival at the site very early, before reception and shop opened, we were greeted by a member of staff who kindly offered for us to take a look around and get our bearings and see where we would like to be pitched. We were camping with a large tent, shelter and small 3 man tent with out 5 children and a dog! We took a jumbo pitch by the large playing field, much to the joy of the children. The site was spotless and the water points were in abundance. The shower/toilet block was large, well lit and clean. The site was secure and I felt safe letting the children have the run of the site. There was plenty of places to explore with the dog and a beautiful little dog walk down by the river, especially stunning at 6am with the ducks peacefully meandering along. It is a large site but sectioned off well so that everyone felt like they had their own little area. We had room to spread out, even with our amount of kit! The shop is well stocked and has a small cafe offering breakfasts and takeaway evening meals (burgers etc). The couple who run it were lovely and very patient with the children as they ran in and out all day with their holiday pennies. The pool was well kept and safe with some beautiful spots to sit and catch the sun right through until it closed. The staff were amazing, always buzzing around doing things and were easily found if we had any queries. I would thoroughly recommend this site and will definitely be looking at returning next year, I cannot rave enough about how much we enjoyed it. Thank you!

Excellent site to explore the Island. Nothing too far for a visit. Close to rail and bus links (1m) where you can get to anywhere on the island to explore. I recommend Ryde beach 15 mins away, good views, pubs and food. The Garlic Farm is also worth a visit 5 mins away. Check the weather before visiting the Needles as we went 3 times before being able to see them due to fog in August!!!! Chairlift and a boat trip on the Needles worth a visit. Robin Hill Carnival Night worth a visit. 7 day unlimited return ticket on 1st entry. Pubs: The Sloop between Cowes and Ryde excellent for a carvery. The Crab at Shanklin Chine gives good value and choice.
