Camping on the Isle of Wight – perfect for relaxing on this tiny island, just a short ferry trip from the England’s south coast.

You’ll find our Adgestone Club campsite in a quiet countryside setting on the beautiful Isle of Wight close to the popular Sandown resort.

Although a large site – 270 pitches – the site is very well laid out with some secluded pitches and is orientated towards families. Adgestone is the only Club Site with a swimming pool which is heated from June until the first week of September and a children’s paddling pool. In addition to the usual toilet/shower facilities, the site also boasts two children’s play areas – one for younger campers and another more extensive area for older children as well as table tennis, boules, outdoor chess and giant jenga. There’s also a shop and takeaway on site and a private fishing pool stocked with carp.

There numerous walking and cycling opportunities from the campsite. Beach lovers are spoilt for choice with the seaside resorts of Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Cowes and Ryde all close by. For days out Dinosaur Isle, Shanklin Chine, the Needles and Blackgang Chine shouldn’t be missed.

Adgestone Vineyard, overlooking Brading Down – itself worth exploring for its spectacular views across Culver Down and Sandown Bay - offers tours of its wine cellars and tastings. Its café serves excellent cream teas too.

This is my second year as a motorhome owner.

This is my second year as a motorhome owner. This 19 night stay was my second visit to this site since September. The site had just opened for the new season and when I arrived I was met with a great welcome from Christine, John and the team. Being single on a site can be daunting, but the team were very friendly always offering a cheerful word each day. The site is set in the countryside being about a mile from the station and a little further to Sandown. As I prefer to leave the motorhome home static, I found it easy to travel around the island on the train or by bus. Both were inexpensive and 7 day tickets could be purchased. A short distance away is a cycle track to Newport or Sandown which is relatively flat. A great website also exists for walkers, where walks can be pre-printed prior to the holiday. The site is made up of relatively flat pitches in enormous areas split up by hedges. A real sense of space is enjoyed. The site is well kept and clean with the team ensuring that everything is done to create a perfect stay. The facilities are kept spotless. I would recommend that all guests to the site follow the site direction map on the website and use A Roads until you get to Fairway. Although on the ferry grossing can be expensive, I found that by varying the times and routes on both ferry sites, great savings could be made if you are flexible. I intend to visit again for another great holiday.

Stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Stayed for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Made to feel welcome and thought the facilities although not spanking brand new were perfectly adequate for our needs. Kids enjoyed the pool. Nice , quiet location. Not for those who like to be where the action is and want a clubhouse and entertainment etc or not to have to drive to the beach but was a relatively short drive to everywhere we wanted to go on the island. We'll be going again.

Great site with lovely flat pitches for tents. Friendly helpful staff made us feel very welcome and were always available to give info/advice. Quiet and spacious surroundings made this a great site for our children, they absolutely loved the play areas and the heated pool. The food in the café was delicious and the shop has a good selection of food and drinks and camping essentials at a good price. Dog walking area is lovely with lots of bins around the site. This is a great site and we will definitely be going again..
