Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance (or hire a bike on site). The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Our first visit to Kent,i always thought of this area as flat and uninteresting, how wrong i was,its lovely and not flat at all, pretty villages,Broadstairs has a lovely sandy beach, great for children,Sandwich is worth a visit, whistable was nice to wander around then go down to the beach and walk along the front where you can get fresh cockles etc,Faversham was also good lots of quaint old buildings, we were there on a Saturday and they had a market,Canterbury lovely to wander round, lovely parks down by the river,we didn't go into the cathedral, would have liked to but i'm afraid 22.50 for two people was a bit of a rip off.would love to return to this area and explore further

We had a wonderful time on this site.

We had a wonderful time on this site. I had the unfortunate occurrence of having to go into Canterbury Hospital during our stay, The Team on site couldn't do enough for us, Because when I (Brian), was released from hospital I was unable to drive for a while, The members of staff took us shopping in there own car, On there day off!!,They also helped us with the facilities for the motorhome,Getting us the water & emptying the waste tank etc, Until I was well enough to undertake them myself, We can't thank you ALL enough for your help & friendship during this time, If it hadn't been for this great team! our holiday would of been ruined, But because of you all, we were able to enjoy our holiday & our stay, On this beautiful site!!

Within easy reach of Canterbury by bus or bike.

Within easy reach of Canterbury by bus or bike. Buses were a little hit and miss on the days we used them. Two shower blocks very clean and good to see the actual shower head has been positioned centrally in the cubicle and the pipe work unexposed. Would have liked a few bins positioned around the site and extra lighting. However, a great site and worth visiting. Book early though!
