Overview

A great campsite to explore Canterbury, with a bus stop outside the site entrance.

City, coast and countryside – you can take your pick if you’re basing yourself at our Canterbury Club campsite. Although a popular stopover for those travelling to or from France, this campsite offers the ideal base for exploring Kent’s coast and country.

The campsite lies a couple of miles south of the city – within walking distance (or hire a bike on site). The not so energetic can catch a bus from outside the campsite. The well laid out campsite offers a mix of level grass and hardstand pitches. There are newly refurbished toilet and shower facilities, a washing up area, children’s play area and good dog walking.

Off site Canterbury is a city packed with history, heritage and culture. It has a stunning cathedral and the ruins of St Augustine’s Abbey and St Martin’s Church and castle. It also has an eclectic mix of specialist shops, independent retailers, bars and restaurants.

Head to the coast for Whitstable with its trendy harbour and July Oyster Festival. The more traditional Herne-Bay has two miles of seafront adorned with colourful beach huts and a pier. The quaint Victorian town of Broadstairs with its Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides is a contrast to the more cosmopolitan habour side Ramsgate noted for its pavement cafes and waterside bars.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Can pack a lot in from Canterbury site. Stagecoach offer daily & weekly passes. So much to do & see in all places. One we visited was the Battle of Britain MEMORIAL @ Capel le Ferne (B2011) then on to the BoB MUSEUM IN Hawkinge, both well worth a visit. Check out the Marlowe & Gulbenkian theatres in Cant'y. We arrived early but was allowed on the pitch 2hrs early which was great as we were only staying the 1 night. Stayed on a hardstanding with electric and it was a very spacious pitch. Toilets and washing facilities were lovely and clean, as were the waste and water points. Lovely dog walking area in a nature reserve accessed straight from the site. We rode our bikes into Canterbury town which was lovely on the way down, pushed the bikes a little way on the way back due to a hill but was not a problem. I would say the town was about a mile and half away. Will definitely go back to this site as there is plenty to see in the area.
