    Top site for beaches

Enjoy coast and countryside from this popular north Norfolk site near Cromer.

You can get a feel for the beautiful and varied Norfolk coast and countryside from our Club campsite at West Runton.

Our pretty and spacious campsite commands a secluded location close to the quaint seaside village with which it shares its name. Trees surround this beautifully maintained site. Facilities include roomy showers, a parent and child room, laundry and washing up area and a lovely dog walk.

Just a short walk from the campsite brings you to the quaint fishing village of West Runton. Its sandy beach is perfect for sunbathing while the plentiful rock pools are waiting to be explored.

For more sandy beaches, piers and promenades Sheringham, Cromer (both within walking distance of the campsite) and Caister-on-Sea tick the boxes.

A mile south of West Runton, Beacon Hill is the highest point in Norfolk. Scale the dizzy height of 300ft and you’ll be rewarded with views over the countryside and coast.

For nature lovers Blakeney Point is a must. This mix of dune, marsh and shingle is home to seals and a variety of birds. Catch a ferry from Mortson Quay to see them. There are more animals to be seen at the Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary and the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre close to the campsite.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

I would first like to comment on all the negative points surrounding the access Road.

This review is for West Runton

I would first like to comment on all the negative points surrounding the access Road. Whilst I accept it is not the best it is nevertheless perfectly OK and let's not forget when towing a caravan you can hardly travel at break neck speed! The site itself is when the schools are on holiday busy indeed as writing this it is pretty much full but that does not detract in any way from the pleasant surroundings. The facilities are as good as any you will find anywhere and in our experience amongst the best we personally have encountered. The Wardens are also as helpful and as pleasant as you could wish for. The walks are simply stunning with woodland, heathland and beach all stunning and accessible. Any review is subjective and reflects the individual feelings of the person concerned and we all like and dislike different things, personally this is a wonderful site and one to be recommended. I would however say that do not let anything negative about the access road put you off as it is really not that bad and to not visit this site based on an access road would be a mistake.

Access road is very narrow, bumpy and poorly maintained.

Access road is very narrow, bumpy and poorly maintained. When we were there Wednesday to Saturday and the wardens kept one of the shower blocks closed, only opening it on Saturday. Presumably this was to save cleaning it everyday. Would not recommend this site.

We have just had an amazing 5 night stay on this beautiful site.

This review is for West Runton

We have just had an amazing 5 night stay on this beautiful site. Shower block spotless and staff very friendly. However whilst dogs are welcome, there isn't anywhere to let them off their lead other than walking down to the beach. We were told the farmers field was okay to use, however the resident cows were NOT happy that we were there and I didn't feel comfortable letting them off the lead. Please please please spare a thought for our 4 legged friends, a fenced off area for dogs would make this site perfect!!
