    Top site for beaches

Enjoy coast and countryside from this popular north Norfolk site near Cromer.

You can get a feel for the beautiful and varied Norfolk coast and countryside from our Club campsite at West Runton.

Our pretty and spacious campsite commands a secluded location close to the quaint seaside village with which it shares its name. Trees surround this beautifully maintained site. Facilities include roomy showers, a parent and child room, laundry and washing up area and a lovely dog walk.

Just a short walk from the campsite brings you to the quaint fishing village of West Runton. Its sandy beach is perfect for sunbathing while the plentiful rock pools are waiting to be explored.

For more sandy beaches, piers and promenades Sheringham, Cromer (both within walking distance of the campsite) and Caister-on-Sea tick the boxes.

A mile south of West Runton, Beacon Hill is the highest point in Norfolk. Scale the dizzy height of 300ft and you’ll be rewarded with views over the countryside and coast.

For nature lovers Blakeney Point is a must. This mix of dune, marsh and shingle is home to seals and a variety of birds. Catch a ferry from Mortson Quay to see them. There are more animals to be seen at the Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary and the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre close to the campsite.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Would recommend the Village Inn and the restaurant Rocky Bottom for a seafood lunch - don't forget to take your own bottle of wine! Great little camping shop in West Runton if you forget anything, very friendly. Lovely walk along the coastal path. Sheringham and Cromer worth a visit. This is our third visit to the area and would definitely recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay at this quiet clean site.

This review is for West Runton

We enjoyed our stay at this quiet clean site. It is surrounded by woodland and gives a nice feeling of seclusion. The staff were helpful and friendly and would recommend it. A fish and chip van visits the site Wednesdays and Saturdays, which we recommend. However, there are a couple of reservations if you like to take a walk to eat out. The most important is that both West and East Runton are at least a mile away by foot. The furthest being East Runton. The footpath there is a fairly level walk through woodland but torch is needed if it is likely to be walked in darkness. The walk to West Runton is shorter but the path through the woodlands is much more difficult and is not recommended for anyone with even slight mobility problems. The drive down to the site is a longish un-metalled track which has a few potholes, but is viable even after heavy rain. Other positives are that site is not far from anywhere on the north Norfolk coast. So if you like a site that is quiet, clean and good for wildlife listening. That is near the coast but no on it, with plenty of good woodland walks, this one is for you.
