    Top site for beaches

Enjoy coast and countryside from this popular north Norfolk site near Cromer.

You can get a feel for the beautiful and varied Norfolk coast and countryside from our Club campsite at West Runton.

Our pretty and spacious campsite commands a secluded location close to the quaint seaside village with which it shares its name. Trees surround this beautifully maintained site. Facilities include roomy showers, a parent and child room, laundry and washing up area and a lovely dog walk.

Just a short walk from the campsite brings you to the quaint fishing village of West Runton. Its sandy beach is perfect for sunbathing while the plentiful rock pools are waiting to be explored.

For more sandy beaches, piers and promenades Sheringham, Cromer (both within walking distance of the campsite) and Caister-on-Sea tick the boxes.

A mile south of West Runton, Beacon Hill is the highest point in Norfolk. Scale the dizzy height of 300ft and you’ll be rewarded with views over the countryside and coast.

For nature lovers Blakeney Point is a must. This mix of dune, marsh and shingle is home to seals and a variety of birds. Catch a ferry from Mortson Quay to see them. There are more animals to be seen at the Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary and the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre close to the campsite.

We have just returned from a three night stay at this club site and we will be back ! Choice of good sized pitches and well spaced out to ensure just the right amount of privacy. The wardens and their assistants are very welcoming and helpful and maintain the site and facilities to an excellent standard. Recommend the easy walk into West Runton - the views and the wildlife on the way are amazing. Sandringham is a 30 minute drive and offers a unique day out for all the family.

Print off directions, we relied on using mobile phone, but no service in the area. Beach about 20 minute steady walk, short drive to Sheringham steam trains. Highly recommend for dog walkers. Very friendly and helpful wardens. Double yolk eggs...yum!

The winding uneven access path felt a bit daunting but what a pleasure to reach this beautiful site nestled on its wooded hill. The greeting was friendly, the lawns and flower beds were perfectly kept, as was the spotless, light and welcoming shower block. My hard standing pitch was perfectly flat but I would advise booking in advance if you require hard standing as there are not many of them. If the season is dry, there is plenty of choice pitching on the grass with lovely views all around. It is possible to walk to a village by taking one of the numerous footpaths at the gate of the site. The receptionist will give you directions. I would recommend visiting Cromer (to eat crab, the specialty) - there is a reasonably priced carpark suitable for motorhomes at the entrance of the village on the left - and driving along the coast to Sheringham Park (free parking for National Trust members - small fee otherwise) for a long walk in stunning surroundings. Enjoy!

Lovely walking....National Trust open walks from the site.Excellent cycling....very pretty countryside. The village of Itteringham is worth a visit and has a great 'community run shop/cafe' serving unusual but delicious cakes, local free range produce and super coffee. It is well worth supporting. The walks to the coast are pleasant and Sheringham's MO MUSEUM is a must. This museum is quite unique and relates the history of Sheringham's fishing families whilst housing fine lifeboats. The upper tower offers panoramic views of the town and coast especially the 88 tower wind farm. This part of the museum brings the visitor to the present time with clever information on the wind farm technology. Fun too for small children and a lift for those less able to use stairs.
