    Top site for beaches

Enjoy coast and countryside from this popular north Norfolk site near Cromer.

You can get a feel for the beautiful and varied Norfolk coast and countryside from our Club campsite at West Runton.

Our pretty and spacious campsite commands a secluded location close to the quaint seaside village with which it shares its name. Trees surround this beautifully maintained site. Facilities include roomy showers, a parent and child room, laundry and washing up area and a lovely dog walk.

Just a short walk from the campsite brings you to the quaint fishing village of West Runton. Its sandy beach is perfect for sunbathing while the plentiful rock pools are waiting to be explored.

For more sandy beaches, piers and promenades Sheringham, Cromer (both within walking distance of the campsite) and Caister-on-Sea tick the boxes.

A mile south of West Runton, Beacon Hill is the highest point in Norfolk. Scale the dizzy height of 300ft and you’ll be rewarded with views over the countryside and coast.

For nature lovers Blakeney Point is a must. This mix of dune, marsh and shingle is home to seals and a variety of birds. Catch a ferry from Mortson Quay to see them. There are more animals to be seen at the Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary and the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre close to the campsite.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

This site has so many happy memories from my childhood holidays in the 80's. Returning now with my family it is still a well looked after site with great facilities. My only negatives are the amount of hardstanding areas and only two jumbo with electric pitches both next to the play area. Will we go back? Yes but please more JWE pitches.

The access is my only complaint but seeing as it has had the same bad reviews since 2010 I cannot see leaving a review will make any difference what so ever, I took my car and caravan which I look after with pride down a lane with 14 pot holes more than 4 inches deep and 2 foot in diameter and plenty of smaller ones and I have photos to prove this in case of any damage incurred and I had to claim ,the rest of the site was up to the usual very good cacc standards and this is why I am a member but will never visit this site again until I can drive down without being rocked all over the place

This clean and vast site is very nice but truly spoilt by the horrendous 300 yard drive from the main road to access the site. The pot holes are, in places, as deep as footballs and often wider; be cautious if you suffer from back problems as you will definitely feel the pain. We towed our caravan down the access lane, which has large tree roots over hanging each high side. There are a few passing places which are very snug and quite tight to safely pass. The drive down to the site broke the bulb in our awning light due to the chronically poorly maintained lane. It's a shame to review negatively a lovely site like this as the shower block is second to none and beautifully clean. There is a small play area for children and you may need chocks in certain areas. The site shop is basic but supplies bread, milk etc. If you don't like dogs this isn't the site for you as there are more dogs than children holidaying there. We have dogs so it wasn't a problem for us. Sadly we will not return to the site due to access. It simply is unsafe and damaging to older vehicles and caravans in its present condition.

We were very pleased with the West Runton site, it's under 2hrs from home, the site is well laid out, the showers/toilets were clean, spacious and plentiful, the best we've found at the club sites we have visited. The walks to West Runton, East Runton along mainly footpaths are perfect for dog walking and you don't have to drive if you don't want to. We also walked to Cromer and you can access the North Norfolk Costal Path.
