Thetford Club campsite is surrounded by natural history & ideal for walkers & cyclists.

Sitting on the edge of Britain’s largest lowland pine forest, our Thetford Forest Club campsite is ideal for those looking to explore Norfolk’s towns and cities like Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, the Broads, or heading to coast for some traditional seaside fun at Great Yarmouth or the more peaceful Southwold.

While at your base at Thetford campsite you can be sure of a relaxed and comfortable stay. The tree-lined campsite is spacious, level and well laid out. Its 150 pitches are split over separate camping areas and the excellent facilities include a parent and child room, a children’s play area set within a fenced recreation field, a dog walk and you can fish for carp, tench and roach on the campsite’s fishing pond.

The local area is ideal for walking and cycling. The Peddars Way National Trail passes close to the campsite while the forest offers boundless opportunities for outdoor activity. The High Lodge Forest Centre has play equipment, sculpture trails and for teenagers there's Go Ape!

Other nearby attractions include Banham Zoo, home to some of the world’s most exotic, rare and endangered animals, BeWILDerwood, a quirky adventure park in Wroxham and Dinosaur Adventure with dinosaur trails, play areas and an animal encounter.

We were a little unsure about staying on a large site but have just had a wonderful couple of nights here. Out of season it was quiet but we weren't alone in the field. The site is very well laid out & we were given a pitch near the dog exercise area & the entrance to the forest. Our two labs thought they were in heaven with the forest walks on the doorstep. The toilets & showers were very clean & there was always plenty of hot water though I can imagine that in peak season you would have to queue. We did a lovely walk on the nearby Pingo trail & loved the countryside we walked through. I am sure that we will be back again as this site offers everything we need for a peaceful break with the dogs.

We stayed for 2nights on this site. The facilities were very clean. Nice friendly welcome upon arrival by the staff and got taken to our pitch. The staff even told us where was best to park on the pitch so we could make the most of the space available. We would definitely recommend!!

Large franchised site, split into several fields, including a rally field.

This review is for Thetford Forest

Large franchised site, split into several fields, including a rally field. Excellent childrens play area, more than the usual standard club one. Grass pitches were getting a bit worn due to being towards the end of the season, but we were given the choice of which direction to pitch so that we could walk out on to grass and not dirt. Toilets and showers are housed in what appears to be a log cabin, lodge style temporary building, as is reception. The friendly staff work hard to keep the facilities clean, but occasionally, if it has been raining, dirt & mud is walked in, but the next time you visited it was clean again. My Only gripe would be that the track leading up to the site was rather rough and bumpy, could do with a better surface, but then you are on a farm site!

We booked for 3 nights in August 2014.

This review is for Thetford Forest

We booked for 3 nights in August 2014. Me and my partner wanted somewhere relaxing that we could have a weekend away with the dog to chill out. This site was perfect!! We arrived about 7pm, the wardens were quick to welcome us and book us in. They gave us a choice of 3 pitches and walked us to our chosen one. The warden talked us through all the site facilities and amenities. The site was very clean, including the shower blocks. We were situated right next to the dog exercise area and the entrance to the forest. We loved every minute and we will be treating this site as our yearly retreat. Nathan and Sarah (pitch 26)
