The surrounding area

Nearby to Dunstan Hill Club Site is the pleasant woodland walk to the nearby beach and village of Craster – home of the kipper. Visit Dunstanburgh Castle north of here, the backdrop to the glorious, safe sandy expanse of Embleton Bay.

The imposing Bamburgh Castle overlooks the Farne Islands – the summer ‘home’ of more than 100,000 pairs of breeding seabirds and later in the year the islands become the pupping grounds to a colony of grey seals.

South of our Dunstan Hill campsite is Alnwick Castle, probably best known for its role as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films. Horticulture fans will love the gardens home to a giant holly serpent and some of the world’s most poisonous plants.

Beadnell Bay, a paradise for water sport lovers and Seahouses, a colourful fishing port are both worth visiting.

What a very nice part of the country. Lots of nice little coastal villages.

What a very nice part of the country. Lots of nice little coastal villages. Castles and History are in abundance. Lindesfarn Banbury Alnwick along with Gragside are well worth a visit. A meal at the Tree House Restaurant @ Alnwick is a must. A few meals at the Italian restaurant in Embelton was had. But would give Greys a wide birth. For those who like their Fish n Chips it's got to be Seahouses. A boat trip to the Farne islands is a must from Seahouses. NT members Gragside well worth a visit. For the book fanatics while in Alnwick Barter Books is pure heaven. Enjoy your stay we will be back .

the site is very clean and well presented the site staffs are very good and very helpful. we would definitely use this site again. the site is close to many places of interest and the beach is a nice walk. there is a bus stop right outside the site and you can get all along the coast from Newcastle to Berwick. (even better when you have a bus pass!) there are pubs reasonably close to te site but quite a long walk. a mobile chip shop comes on Fridays
